Death Knight's should get Frostmourne for Transmog

With the addition of Might of the Frozen Wastes, and journeying into the Shadowlands, I see no better an opportunity to give Death Knight’s at least the appearance of their most treasured rune blade.

While they do have access to the Blades of the Fallen Prince, we are meeting the Runecarver himself, he could melt the steel of the blades down and reforge them into the apperance DK’s desire.

Possibly by finding… a Memory for the Runecarver (items we’re already sought after to gain Legendary affixes), why not an additional one for Transmog, exclusive to DK’s? I believe the Nathrezim creating the blade was retconned by the Runecarver crafting it anyway, who’s to say he could’ve forgotten and we could give him a quick reminder.

Multitudes of other classes have received their highest honor of class fantasy weaponry while the DK was left in the dust of the shattered remnants of what could have been.

Paladin’s get access to Ashbringer, as well as a new model for corrupted Ashbringer

Demon Hunter’s have exclusive rights to Warglaives of Azzinoth, despite the weapons being usable by other classes years before the implementation of the Demon Hunter

Outlaw has exclusive rights to the HD Thunderfury’s, which back in Classic is considered a tank weapon due to its high attack speed and aoe threat generation.

I’m not asking for the blade itself, with it’s ability to control the scourge, I’d just like the appearance.

You can use this until they make one available.

I too, would like to transmog frostmourne. I’ve got the blades of fallen prince in my badge the runecarver is right over there let’s do this.

I shall wield by Great-Value off brand sword with pride until the real one arrives.

 Hey, it was also the sword of a thousand truths I think.

Hah… remember when items dropped and you could equip them right away? I have a bag full of items in BfA that are higher ilvl, that I can’t use… Thanks corruptions.

Sad that upgrades don’t feel like upgrades…

Yea, I stopped playing about the time corruptions dropped.

Went a few weeks of upgrading cloak and all and just… ugh.

Pets and polished Warglaive of Azzinoth illusion xmog. All that farming paid off… though I do hope that blizz makes this a thing too , it would only be fair since us DH’s did get the love we all asked for.

Could it be that Blizz loves us Elves more ? nahhh that never happens

Well, Blizz did eventually cave and give diet high-elves to the Alliance.

I’m just here praying for my blue skull sword. <3

I have a feeling they’ll get frostmourne later in SL.

while they’re at it let us transmog shadowmourne

Agreed. Especially since we are literally going to see the smith who made Frostmourne. It’s the perfect time for a quest line. Heck we are even carrying the shards with us and could reforge the 2h version. Not a better and more fitting time honestly.

I’d say paladins should as paladins was the first class to hold it, but instead I’ll go with Warrior as Warriors are masters of all weps and only they can wield its power and not succumb to it.

This… doesn’t quite make much sense to me. Frostmourne was a rune blade. Which historically is wielded by death knights.

Paladin’s and warriors having access to Frostmourne would be a horrible decision imo.

I get your line of thinking, Arthas was a Paladin at the time of taking up the blade, but eventually it corrupted him to the point of becoming the Lich King. That would in of it’s self go against all Paladin lore having access to it.

Friend and I did the same. We both got our cloaks to 8 and just stopped because why bother? the visions were garbage and since we weren’t planning on raiding Ny’alotha there was no point.

I think we can now, though I never bothered to finish the quest so I can’t verify.

looks like we can. cheers

Ya but Arthas forsook the light that’s why he got corrupted.

Paladins wield power beyond them as we’ve seen the become corrupted by the light in the form of murderous zeal.

We’ve learned the runes arent evil nor or they a death Knight thing. As all our legendaries will be using similar runes to empower them.

Warriors on the other hand are masters of all weapons and use real tatics and muscle to beat foes with godly powers.

Therefore warriors can handle the overwhelming power of the blade better then others.

Makes no sense at all lmfao.

I really hope you’re trolling.

The light doesn’t corrupt, so to speak. The light offers it’s power to those who are loyal to it, it’s up to the individual what they use the light for, whether good or evil.

Take Uther for example, one of the most holy men to exist, used the light for nothing but purity and justice (At least while living, we’re not talking afterlives Uther here).

Now compare that to the Scarlet Crusade, or Yrel, even X’era for that matter. These are also followers of the light, but use it for zealotry, forceful conversion and genocide but define it as “retribution”.

You have me there, according to Wowpedia, runeblades are primarily a death knight thing, but have been used by demons and high elves, such as the case of Felo’malorn, the sword of the Sunstrider dynasty.

Just because Warriors are most familiar with blade, blunt, and shield alike, doesn’t neccesarily mean they’re capable of wielding Frostmourne. You’ve seen what it did to Arthas, a Paladin, what would make a Warrior holding it any different?
