Death Knight is Weak

Why is this still going?

see, this is the problem when you can’t comprehend your own garbage vs what’s being asked- i said 3.0
aka the very release of wotlk, not 3.2/3.3, when a lot of the major changes began.

Yeah, im talking about 3.0-3.1 as well.

show me then. you said you had proof
 where it is?

What do you want? The blue post that was already linked in this thread? The posts were made march 26, and April 4th of 2009. 3.2 didnt come out until August 9th.

bluetracker.gg/wow/topic/us-en/15973487596-rip-dk-dual-wield

and just in case you dont want to go there

"We want both dual wielding and 2-handers to be viable for Death Knights, balancing both of these inside each tree has been exceptionally challenging and caused an issue or two. If we have to make it so DKs have one type of fighting, it will be the 2-handers.

We are considering something like making the frost tree the dual-wield tree, so some frost specific abilities would hit with both weapons through that tree only, and then have unholy/blood as 2-hand focused. Nothing is set in stone though."

You are probably going to point to “if we have to make it so DKs (the entire class) to have one type of fighting, it will be the 2-handers”. But that gets made moot with the next paragraph.

"We are considering something like Making the Frost Tree the dual-wield tree (have a high focus on DW), so some frost specific abilities would hit with both weapons through that tree only, and then have unholy/blood as 2-hand focused. Nothing is set in stone though, but come 3.2 thats what happened.

So this means that 3.0-3.1 DW was a part of the DK. They intended the DK to have a DW option. This was going into the 3.2 PTR which most likely had some changes going on, Frosts shift to strikes, Howling Blast being sent to the bottom of the tree as with Gargoyle (killing the DW build which was a lot of damage) and Blizzard was the ones who brought up Frost = DW. The OP said nothing of a spec, just that its stupid to have DK’s have the ability to DW with no option to. Blizzard suggested Frost. Blizzard already had Nerves of Cold Steel in the Frost Tree.

If people actually stopped to read their talents, it should have been blatantly obvious. It was all Blizzards idea to make Frost the DW spec.

Well you just proved our point. If what you are saying you are interpreting from this post is true, and it’s not, dw never had a specific talent tree. Like you quoted and try to brush off they preferred the class to be 2h. Now we all know their wasn’t a specific dw tree at launch because of the nature of making a build as a dk but this post proves that they were having a hard time implementing dw into the dk play style.

They will continue to ignore every actual fact and use mental gymnastics to lie about it. There is no pointing in arguing with it, other than a few posts to get a good laugh from the sheer idiocy. At this point ignore it and move on.

Yeah, it did. The Frost tree since thats where Blizzard put Nerves of Cold Steel from the very beginning.

Also, thats not what that quote means what so ever. It doesnt mean they preferred the class to be 2h. The class already had 2 2h specs so if for some ungodly reason they couldnt get DW to work with the updated specs, then they would just make it 2h. Nowhere in that quote does it say “we prefer 2h but we are just trying to appease you DW idiots”. It doesnt exist.

No, they werent having a hard time implementing DW into the DK playstyle. THERE WAS A DW PLAYSTYLE THAT DID A TON OF DAMAGE AND FOCUSED ON SPELLS. 2 cooldowns that you could use together, rime, death coil, blood boil for converting blood runes through reaping. It didnt go for strikes because it didnt have ToT yet. But once Frost took a turn towards strike damage with moving Howling Blast, something had to be done because in fleshing out the specs more
they unintentionally killed DW, something they wanted the DK to do.

Sorry that your reading comprehension is so poor. Blizzard could have just spelled it out for you like they did time and time again and you are still delusional and enjoying your own headcanon which is based on nothing.

DW was intended from the beginning, blizzard said this in that blue post. And I knew you guys would focus on the thing in the quote that didnt matter.

you really need to learn to comprehend reading. it even says:

Blizzard strikes again.

First came 2handed shamans (dead)
Arms Warriors? (dead)
3.1 patch day release = Dual Wielding Death Knights (dead)

hence players figured out how to make dw work and fun to play so blizz tried killing it.

THE FROST TREE WAS THE ORIGINAL TANK TREE YOU TARD, LOL.

Oh, I just remembered something.

DW Unholy.

Try tried killing it? How did you end up at that conclusion when Blizzard said they wanted the DK class to have access to both?

because the bluepost YOU posted as evidence even says

3.1 patch day release = Dual Wielding Death Knights (dead)

good god, are you that dumb or just plain stupid? lol

Name calling and you dont even know what Nerves of Cold Steel did.

Nerves of Cold Steel wasnt a dps talent that increased offhand damage by a x% and increased the chance to hit with 1h weapons.

Frost superfan over here calling people names and are just guessing what something did based on its name. Thanks for showing everyone why you should read your talents.

It was such a cool thing! It made more sense.

I remember Sudden Doom procs off of each weapon swing. Making you throw Death Coil like Oprah Winfrey.

Just because the blue post said that they preferred dks to be 2h doesn’t mean they preferred dks to be 2h.

Heck, I’d like to use a shield for Unholy Dks with a twist: your shield slot affects your minions instead of you.
