Because that would require Blizzard to actually write a Night Elf story that doesn’t include getting absolutely destroyed over and over again just to show how great the horde is… oh and then getting ignored afterwards until it’s time to destroy them even further.

I think it’d be cool if they finished revivifying Desolace and turned it into a full-fledged forest. That’d make a great place for the nelfs to live.

But since we have the bigger issue of nzoth and the planet dying. And sylvie in shadowlands. The horde are not about to be tried for the tree. And game mechanics don’t allow it either.

we get the hard luck story bit. Issue is…usually hard luck stories have some turn around at some point. Still waiting for that turn around. And SL has us forward deployed sooo, yeah…we may be the new gnomes.
Gnomes have been screwed over too. Oh hi gnome people. We the alliance could help you recover your place. After… we go to northrend, outland, Pandaria, another Draenor, Kul tiras, now shadowlands and I am sure we can think of someplace after that too.

Maybe i’m the only one thinking that it worked better to see gnomes making settlements after gnomeregan’s disaster. Much like the race is still thriving and developing.
