Dear Blizzard. (My apology)

Silences are only ever applied by GMs, so there’s your first misunderstanding.

Trolling someone, in and of itself, is not against the rules. Doing so while using inappropriate language (something the OP isn’t denying doing over several account actions), is against the rules.

Unfortunately, I’ve yet to see an example of where that’s true. This very thread Destiny admits that they broke the rules! They are not innocent according to their own post.

I’d love to see a link post Code of Conduct revamp (so in the last … year or two I think?) that says that.

So basically, what you’re saying, it’s other it’s other people to blame for the actions you take while trying to act what you say should be turn the blind eye?

No, I’m not the one being silenced. I’ve received a couple in the past, but I haven’t had one for a long time. I’m just a member of the community stating that it’s killing the very thing that keeps some of us playing through this dumpster fire of an expansion

But if they are getting silenced, mean Blizzard says they did.

Attitudes like yours are a good reason why the current community is considered toxic by others.

No, the system is automated now. It’s reviewed by a GM after you appeal it.

I’m not aware of the circumstances regarding his latest silence. I’m saying the system itself is broken. He may very well have deserved it. 8 months is ridiculous, though.

Customer Support really isn’t the place to discuss this. If you want to discuss the state of the game or TOS/EULA updates, General is the best place. No one in Customer Support, including the SFAs, can pass along your ‘feedback’.

The OP’s situation was resolved. This thread should be done.

The squelch is automated and it’s used as an emergency measure to basically shut the person up til a GM reviews the situation

I have a right to my opinion, as do you. However, I’m not going to get upset by it and report your comment in the hopes that my opposing view is somehow vindicated.

I’m sorry, but you’re mistaken

Someone has been reading too much of the anti-Blizzard propaganda

We’re talking about in-game silences, not forum silences. In-game, silences can only be given by a GM. You can search these very forums to learn that you’re wrong in this case.

It wouldn’t be 8 months if they hadn’t continued to break the rules. See, the OP is just starting to learn not to break the rules and their last silence that was applied by a GM was 4 months long. Their next one will be 16 months long, but here’s hoping they really do want to change.

Just so ya know, the Blues here VERY dislike when folks come here and try to start stuff.

I’m stating my experience regarding what silencing a handful of people on my realm has done to the community. You don’t have to agree with me or approve of my view.

This was over six months ago, before the mass layoff of support staff and the automation of the system. It has changed multiple times since its introduction around Legion prepath

You’re right, we don’t have to agree with your view. What we want to do is correct your misunderstanding of how the system works.

If you were “squelched” in-game, that’s for if you’re reported for Spam. That’s very different than what the OP is referring to.

For spam, if enough people report you for that, then you’ll receive a squelch. That squelch is reviewed by a GM and if appropriate, a silence will be placed by the GM too.

The system hasn’t changed at all in the past 6 months. You’re really pulling at straws here.

Haha…no it hasn’t. You are now making excuses. This is getting into trolling territory. You might wanna stop digging before that hole gets too deep.

And you got proof of this, where?
