LFR is getting really miserable. You can’t even roll on transmog items most of the time, and when you can and you win, you get death threats from “casual” players who grind dozens of hours a week on solo content.
This leads to the most skilled players passing on the mode altogether, not even using the bosses as target dummies to practice their damage rotation. Then the remaining most skilled players get tired of carrying and leave as well, and after a couple of years of that you arrive at today: My ilvl 645 tank alt tops the damage meters on bosses, and we’re flirting with the enrage timers constantly. The bosses’ mechanics are all nerfed to the point where it’s nearly impossible to fail even with such a bad group, so it’s just this terrible hours-long slog.
Switching back to personal loot would be an easy fix here. It would give some normal/heroic raiders an excuse to queue up again and let “casual” players see what they could accomplish with a few hours’ targeted practice.
The solution to this is to make the social environment more welcoming so people play outside of pushing. Folks don’t log off when they can hang out with their friends and relax.
LFR is legit the only group instance content (aside from M+ i guess) where I think personal loot is a good thing. Otherwise it’s just basically the wild west, need everything regardless of anything.
dont make illegal death threats then. your lucky police dont show up at your door. making death threats gets you arrested irl bro. but nah lets let player commit irl crimes because they’re mad.
Last few runs, had half a dozen people just instantly die, accept rez die straight away again and just stay dead.
I call it out as to kick the AFKs and no one gives a ____.
Personally I dont try very hard in LFR myself but will end up in the top DPS with just Auto attacks, a couple of abilities and dodging mechanics.
I’m not actually offended LOL. It’s weird hanging out in WoW communities in general… it takes 1000x what’s said here to cause me even the start of offense.
I don’t say offensive things really, so I still fit in OK, but it’s awkward to watch other people get attacked for saying things that seem pretty reasonable.
