No it’s not. Personal loot picked the person then gave the loot. Greed/Need system picks the loot then then allows you to roll . This also allows the same person to win all available.
Also note, I’m replying to the comic strip attempting to show why PL sucks… I would like to see one with the Greed/Need system

I highly doubt a cloth user can win plate items if they drop via need rolls.

And the current system is a thousand times better. PL in LFR sucked and I got harassed all the time with so many freaking whispers. Now, people usually just lose rolls, see they lost and move on with their lives.

It’s also extremely rare to see one person win all of the drops they can roll need on. So this is kind of moot anyway.
And even if they did, more power to them. They won’t see good rolls for a while, most likely.

No it was not. It did nothing to help anything. All it did was create addons that harassed people.
Full ignore lists just because of LFR was toxic. That’s not an excuse for a crap loot system.
My experience has been zero arguments anywhere.
The only time that happens is if there’s only one or two of that class/spec that can use the items.
So no. People aren’t constantly getting lucky.
There was nothing better about PL. And it won’t ever return anyway, due to group stacking, which absolutely happened in LFR, so I don’t want to hear “that wasn’t a thing.” It’s why Blizz removed it and why you’ll never see it in raids again.

The problem is, this don’t solve the LFR heroes harassing you for loot, they’ll even write an addon specifically to automate the harassment for loot with PL.
On top of that, what they claim to care about is geared players willing loot they don’t ‘need’, which PL just makes easier, and more likely to happen.
The actual fix is to not change how the loot is distributed, but substantially increase how much loot drops. At best, 60% of the raid gets nothing from a 2 boss wing.
No just CBF dealing with these type of people. IMO theres quite a few of them that got there high post count because they want to troll rather than engage in a productive conversation.
It’s pretty obvious while I used the word “all” I also used the word “allow” which in theory is correct.
But this also applies if 2 mail items drop some mail wearer could win both which can’t happen with PL.
So for them to hyperfocus on wording is pretty petty.

The ol’ Goo Goo Gaa Gaa approach is tried and true. Kind of a tossup whether I’ll go that route, close the whisper tab and never think of it again, or reply “make an offer” and then /ignore before they have a chance to respond.
If someone’s completely unhinged then it’s definitely report time though.
It’s not really an opinion that the addon ‘personal loot helper’ exists, and has since early Legion.
I think LFR loot is kinda just unfit for purpose with the addition of delves and the catalyst, regardless of which loot system you use. It’s just transmog now unless you really need a set bonus early on.
Not really a substitute. If the entire raid was doable in Story mode then I could maybe see it. But in it’s current iteration you can only do the final boss.
Sure you get the overaching end of the story, but you miss out on the environmental and side boss story telling aspects. Granted LFR isn’t great for that since bosses are often widely out of order, but it’s better than no alternative.
I understand why vexie got put in the 3rd wing from a layout perspective, but it’s still weird…
With story mode/delves existing, they really should go back to the WoD LFR loot design.
