They could put them in your mailbox when you hit 60 and I wouldn’t be surprised
Population isn’t always indicative of a good game, to be fair.
I think the majority of players will just play a fresh server cause it’s fresh even if it’s bad. Era was never going to out populate the “next big thing”
Era is just like people who still play StarCraft or age of empires. It’s literally no different
So irrelevant boomers who have an ego over a decade old game.
… but still paying their sub to do so, and that’s what matters for Blizz.
Dude if you don’t like the game just don’t play till TBC is out lmao
I mean it doesn’t matter what you think about them. They are getting what they want, a static, perpetual vanilla server. While everyone cries constantly about their version of the game, I notice era players are literally the ONLY demographic NOT complaining
I’m not really sure why you hate or dislike era and era players so much. It’s actually kind of borderline cringe. They aren’t affecting you in any way. I don’t play era and they have never bothered me. Relevancy has nothing to do with it. You aren’t relevant either and neither am I
I had to even explain to you some of the reasons era exists, like hardcore xfers and end of seasons (SOM)
Game is fine. Just slow. It’s 2025 we don’t need 3 months per raid tier. Maybe 6 weeks max.
IMO a more relevant comparison would be the original release of vanilla and TBC. If this is an anniversary celebration Blizzard might be leaning towards similar dates as well.
Wow “vanilla” was released 23 Nov 2004. Anniversary “vanilla” was released 21 Nov 2024. Pretty close. Now original TBC launched 16 Jan 2007. The roadmap they put out makes it quite possible that Anniversary TBC will drop in Jan of 2026. Maybe around the 15th or possibly 22nd if we want to speculate on an actual date.
Regardless it should progress at a rate that Blizzard has planned and not speed up because some players have difficulty with impulse control.
Eh… unlikely that matters.
TBC this time around makes sense in January for sure. Holidays are SUPER quiet and retail usually drops something big in Decemberish…
They really dont want to overlap those… so yeah I agree. TBC January 2026
No one is stopping you from taking a break until the next raid tier comes out.
Nah. Me not playing doesn’t speed the game up. It isn’t like this is new stuff. The is old stuff already figured out. You can clear all of naxx in prebis. No other game re re releases old content then spreads it’s old content out by 3 months each. There’s a reason classic has such a low population. It’s slow and boring.
They release things on a planned timeline for a reason. They strategically release different things in each wow subsection to not overwrite each other and keep subs up
Screaming “faster” isn’t gonna work
It’s more like I’m screaming “more” we should have classic TBC and wrath all on cycle from start to finish. People shouldn’t have to wait 3 years to play TBC or wrath again.
I agree but they need to imo remove all the garbage they added and just have a running 2019 model of the trilogy and then just do seasonal or classic+ with changes
Stop being a doomer. Good night, I played on Anniversary all night and saw people all over questing in 20 - 30 eras.
picking the expansion you wanna play has nothing to do with “i want to buy gear” that is as if you are asking for gear to be on shop vs people asking for expansions era to enjoy.
My whole post is about picking the expansion. Giving people the option to choose classic TBC or wrath. On a constant loop. Resetting back to fresh each time. We also don’t need stale 7 year old infinite on farm era if this were the case.
While I’m not opposed to fresh servers that cycle - they are different than Era.
Some of us are busy and don’t have time to spend days playing the dull parts of the game, just to get a few good WSG games per fresh cycle.
Era being static is its best feature, we can login on the weekend, get a dozen good pvp matches, and logout until we want to pvp again without having to hamster-wheel to stay competitive.
To many of us, almost all pve content is just the same thing with different skins, it never gets interesting.
Seems mmos arnt for you. If life is getting in the way it’s probably best to focus on life. If you don’t enjoy leveling up and gearing then you don’t enjoy classic. If that too much of a time commitment and you like pvp then I’d suggest a pvp games where u can que up a game or 2 then get off. It’s ok to get old. It doesn’t mean you should ruin it for everyone else tho.
Funny saying that to someone who has been playing on Azeroth as their main game since it re-release in 2019 - but yeah, classic is meh, Vanilla is king.
Turns out I enjoy my geared toons plenty on Era, and blizzard enjoys my sub. Sometime I level alts too or play hardcore, but I can do it as casually as I want and no patch will come and ruin the fun.
Vanilla is a pvp game. Born from wc3 and devs that were quite focused on good gameplay.
Even the pvp nowadays are all about pushing patches so fast to keep players addicted, I enjoy a game that has a static meta and people can keep pushing the limits.
I log into Era, queue takes like 5 min - play a couple games, have fun, enjoy life.
