DDOS and Hardcore

Basically.

Something was up with servers for me yesterday and had to hard leave a WG in cata I was DC’ing in twice.

Somehow that got me on the afk bad boy list and I got kicked lol.

All I lost was win honor. The kick was just irksome since I was wondering who reported me in the crap show that is cata WG lol.

ban everyone from onlyfangs and suddenly it will be much less of a fun idea to spend money on ddosing blizzard lol

its only tempting because so many eyes are on it, live in 4k

the other solution is to make disconnecting safe, like most of the hardcore games do nowadays. wouldnt be taken as seriously tho.

They can whine about ddos or they can whine about Timmy pulling his cable to not die in a 20 year old game.

They’d probably love the drama around accusing others of disconnecting, anyway.

Here it is at the end of the day, they state they believe they have been targeted over a course of days or more maybe weeks. Now the only way people or the DDOS griefers would have known when they are actually running this raid would have only been because they are streaming it live. You would think, knowing what could happen if the realm lagged or went down. They themselves would have said just record it and play it later and not live stream it since they where getting greifed or believed they was the targets of these attacks. But they didn’t they went ahead and took the risk and well its happen.

This would come up real fast if the case.

HC has been all over the place in its run. You can seek no help! dudes rant if you help people. Its against the rules!

When I tried it I chose the path of diplomacy. I did not help others. I had a hunter there. We love to tab and hit targets all the time, its our main meme.

Whoops, silly hunter tabbing wrong mob again. HC player not dying is merely a coincidence.

He obviously had it out for you when he heard you made a hardcore WoW character.

At this point… seems like a right of passage.

It’s okay you just don’t follow this situation and don’t know what you’re talking about but want to act like you know something.

No-one takes POE or POE2 less seriously because you can logout automatically and they’ve been doing it for years. There’s no big difference between using a dc to avoid a bad situation and using a petri flask. Most endgame deaths are one shots or situations where someone dies very quickly to mechanics, because raids and dungeons just petri out of bad situations.

Has Blizzard released any statement on their game getting DDOS’d to kill OnlyFangs hardcore streamers? They just lost hundreds of thousands of twitch viewers worth of exposure for their game, and inconvenienced many players with hardcore deaths, bricked keys, lost game time, and for rated PVP I assume lost rating.

I couldn’t care less about onlyfangs but everyone shrugging this off as some sort of contract hardcore players signed up for are simple and deranged.

I shouldn’t even have to explain why. A death from a legitimate raid wipe is not the same as a death caused by the inability to react due to server instability.
The right thing to do for customers paying for their service would be to roll back deaths that occurred at the time of the server incident.

Its amazing how many people paying to play this game (or to just blather on the forums) simultaneously advocate for a worse product out of disdain for other game modes.

It’s an abysmal lack of customer service for Blizzard not to roll back deaths that happen during a DDOS. This is maybe the highest profile DDOS in WoW history.

There’s a lot of ppl who have some sociopathic dislike of streamers, so they rationalize anything bad happening to them is fair game. It’s gross. There are some I don’t like but I don’t wish anything bad on them. I just don’t watch them. lol

WoW was never meant to be a hardcore game, yet an official mode was provided. The idea and rules both come DIRECTLY from Diablo II. Losing a hardcore character to a Battlenet disconnect has been going on for 20+ years. Millions of times. It’s just that some insufferable streamers weren’t the victims.

I want Retail Hardcore PVP server.

The game has drastically changed throughout the decades, its only sensible that an outdated system would be overhauled (like most things have in the game) to provide a better, fair experience for players.

This kind of negligent service doesn’t only effect hardcore wow, btw.

It can’t be put in better words…

The difference is, they knew the risk

Nah they’re literally just sticking their heads in the sand and ignoring it despite it wiping out probably millions of dollars of brand value, social media exposure, subs, etc. haha

Ok, 1st off, the “WoW is not meant for hardcore” thing, is your opinion. The fact is that this is an oficially offered play mode. I’m not going out of my way to invent rules, or forcing anything down Blizzard’s throat.

Second… I’m not advocating for OF or any other streamer, I’m selfishly advocating for myself (and maybe others), and the actual fear of playing the game and losing my character because of something absolutely unrelated to me.
