Random intervals of 30min-1hour-ish I’ll be disconnected from WoW only. Everyone will be lagging in place for like 5-10 seconds then I’ll be kicked to the login screen. I’ll be in discord while this is happening and discord does not disconnect nor have any issues. I’ll immediately launch a browser as well and there’s no problem.
I am almost certain this is an ISP issue but no idea how to trace or report it.
I was finally able to run WinMTR tonight during a DC, was palying all day with 0 DCs and now roughly at 7-8p PST I got disconnected around 5 times in the last 30min:
Have been running it and restarting it every 5ish minutes for about 5-10min, but haven’t appeared to DC again. Very intermittent. Here are the results with no DC
Discord isn’t as sensitive to short-term connection issues.
All the tests look great. The IP lease time on your modem or router from the ISP may be too short. Check the configuration for the device or ask the ISP to help.
Unfortunately I have not. I’m weary on even calling my ISP because you often get someone on the opposite side of the world who doesn’t really understand what you’re asking them to look into.
Haven’t played much today, but when I was on yesterday I was DCing around every 15 mins from WoW only. There’d be times where I go to the bathroom or get something to drink and come back DC’d within those few mins.
Primarily happens in evenings it seems, but not sure if I can reliably say that.
Our issues match perfectly. There’s a lot of people here saying there’s some issue with Spectrum atm. Looks like our best bet is to wait it out and see if either party fixes it.
There is an ongoing issue with Spectrum that the staff addressed in the forum. They aren’t sure why it’s happening, but it’s only some Spectrum customers (I am also on Spectrum but unaffected).
I’m thinking it’s the modem or firmware, which caused major issues in the past due to a specific chipset.
See, I’m more in the mindset that it is an infrastructure issue with Spectrum in specific neighborhoods where they don’t have the setup needed for the amount of customers in those neighborhoods. The issue seems to be more that the signals are being throttled, and affect everyone in those specific locations for all traffic.
I also have spectrum, and the game is unplayable. I can only play for anywhere from 40 seconds to 5 minutes with this issue starting three days ago and becoming more frequent as of now.
I’m seeing players post at all times of the day, so not sure it’s a saturation issue. Plus, my location requires hopping to Tampa (some reports there) before continuing on to the Chicago WoW server, yet I have no issue. That’s why I’m leaning towards firmware/modem.
