Tested before reset and follower dungeons is the way to go. I cleared first bunch of mobs in Priory/Darkflame and it gets me the best amount of cloth. Overall I’d still prefer they increase the flow of cloth bye 25-40% at least.
Even as someone who makes gold on selling cloth, unravelling and shuffling I don’t like this.
I saved Threads of Devotion for my last unlock so I need skill 75. However to get there everything that grants skill ups requires either Acuity, A buttload of Dawn/Dusk, or both! These drop rates are going to keep my in the 60’s of my profession for weeks unless I give up doing other content to focus on farming. Only so many hours in a day.

Anecdotal, but it feels like it was nerfed again. Ran a few Priory follower dungeons and got significantly fewer drops of ALL types (normal/dusk/dawn) than I had been last week. I don’t have time to do more runs now just to see if it was a particularly bad string of RNG, but it definitely feels terrible. Have we seen drops change anywhere else the past few days?

I feel the same. Last week i farmed a 2x4 for an hour and got ~100 of each dawn/dusk. Today I finished quality fabrics 30/30 (already had textile treasures 30/30) and after an hour and a half I barely scrapped 60ish of each (counting all ranks). I’m at the end of my rope here since I was planning to make bags for all my alts. I’m even thinking of enchanting my profession tools because who knows, maybe perception/resourcefulness on those affect cloth drop rate?
I felt the same when speccing my herbs/miners, that I was getting less drops the more KP I spent, but this is ridiculous.
I just did a Priory and noticed it too.
Yea, cloth still seems incredibly scarce. I’m getting only a few pieces a day if I’m lucky.

Well, I’ve been totally demoralized on my Tailoring alt now. It’s just too much time investment for far too few scraps of Weave that then have to be refined into still too few useable reagents (even with high Multicraft). I’m maxed in Textile Treasures, maxed in Less is More and maxed in Dawn until Dusk with a few more points down those trees and I can’t get enough of the Dusk/Dawnweave to make a single bag or armor piece in 3 hours of “farming”.
My chars will just have to go without the 36-slot bags and my clothies will have to make do with whatever quest armor they can get. This just isn’t fun.
Just going to log them in weekly to get more Profession Knowledge points (while supplies last) until this is sufficiently addressed.

Stonevault w/ Followers until Master Machinists doesn’t seem too bad, all things considered - if a bit monotone. I did 8 clears in a little less than an hour and walked out with maybe ~50 of each specialty cloth and a couple hundred weavecloth? It’s not fun, but I can probably at least keep up my dawn/dusk cooldown if I do this a few times a week. Which is still a heavy time investment, and I still hate it, but at least it doesn’t feel impossible…
@Blizzard, please reconsider. Dawn/Duskweave being (much) rarer, yielding (way) fewer spools, and not dropping bolts are too many deterrents.

Has there been any response from Blizzard on this yet? Frustrating to have a profession stonewalled by a poorly tuned drop rate.

None that I’ve seen. I’ve pretty much given up on my tailor alt now. I don’t have the time to grind for 3+ hours a day for minimal returns.

When they set up tailoring so that we had to be cloth farmers I thought that was interesting - so often our cloth wearing characters aren’t ideal farming characters. Then when 2*4 farms meant there was an oversupply nerfing drops for everyone penalised all the solo farmers. Now keeping adjusting the drop rate means you will often wasting hours for minimal return - you cannot predict. It is utterly disrespectful of players time.
They should be able to nerf 2*4 farms without affecting solo gatherers. It can’t be that difficult.
But as of now the choices seem to be
a. pull the curtain and say this change of tailors as gatherers has failed - and go back to everyone getting cloth drops; and/or
b. actually do the work to prevent 2*4 farms without affecting solo gatherers but Im not sure the current Blizzard iteration has the ability or resources to do that; and/or
c. adjust unravelling of duskweave and dawnweave so that you get about the same output of spools as weavercloth and make the demand for spools in crafts much lower.
I did my 5 delves for the weekly quest on my tailor yesterday. First delve I got 8 dawnweave. The rest I got no cloth drops at all.

loool and now I’ve hit a point where my Engineering crafter is being asked to make things that require Dawnweave bolts. FML. How dare I presume I could escape this pointless grind for dawn/duskweave by simply not playing my Tailor…
I decided my tailor isn’t going to farm dawn/duskweave at all. I’ll just buy whatever I need off the auction house. Not ideal, but I don’t have the time to use the one toon to attempt to farm the stuff. Did anyone comment on this issue during beta? It’s a bad design that only tailors can collect the stuff.

This is a terrible expension, no fun playing this game anymore

Yeah this is what I do since the price dropped. No idea where these people are getting it all from because my drops are still abysmal. Literally only buy it off AH if I even bother.
Wasn’t an issue on the beta, they nerfed it about a week into September to where literally none was dropping.
In a month I’ve gotten like 11 bronze, 15 silver, and 8 gold duskweave.
I run delves and dungeons a bunch on all sorts of toons and I have the full cloth find points in tailoring and it’s still abysmal.
An EU dev said they don’t know why but they’re looking into it, but no comment on the NA forums.

Is there any update on this issue? I have seen no real communication about it. I am not a tailoring power-user, I really just want to be able to outfit all of my characters with nice bags and such. It felt a little bad when cloth drops were restricted to tailors, but I understood the change. But to have every tailor penalized for power farmers? That doesn’t just feel bad, frankly it is an egregious slap in the face and maybe one of the worst choices this company has ever made as far as professions and gameplay.

After just a few weeks of doing some cloth farming on my mage and lock, it does appear easier just to farm gold and buy the dawn/duskweave. The amount of time trying to farm cloth with tailors full speced into being able to find more cloth is absolutely bananas.
