With “collections” coming in 2 weeks’ time, will it be possible to restore this item if you have completed the final quest as part of the loremaster of kalimdor achievement? Or will it be added to your toys collections?
Don’t think toy collections was WotLK, did they add it anyway?

It was removed from the game in Cata, replaced with a similar item from timbermaw rep at the same time. Became a toy in wod. 6.0.2 also added the toy box you are referring to if memory serves.
Edit: Only “Collections” we are getting with WOTLK is the Mount Tab and I THINK pets tab?

That would be my memory too. Unless Blizzard is adding more than WotLK collections.

You’re correct on the memory. But the biggest issue in classic at the moment is the gold selling and the associated gold inflation. The original solution to this was the constant gold sink of transmog. So I anticipate seeing appearances and toys collections added during wotlk classic, not cata.

One problem with adding additional gold sinks such as pets or other stuff, just means those who do buy gold just buy more. I think they just need to be tougher on people they catch gold buying to better deter future buying. I know several people that buy and blizz only gives them like 3 day suspensions even on repeated offenses.
Edit: While I think it would be cool to have the toy collection in Wotlk, I wouldn’t expect it for a good while.

Transmog removes the gold from the economy, this prevents people who don’t buy gold being punished by inflation.
Add toy tab for 1000g. Removes gold from the economy for a nice feature.
Allow a single purchase of an old school pre-armor mount for 10,000g.
Allow Scarab Lords to upgrade their Black Qiraji tank to the flying version for 10,000g
And actively scars the low level economy. Pass.
I remember how absolutely lucrative for gold farmers uncommon gear was a few years back. It still is but partially gatekeeps potentially lucrative upgrades for fresh accounts with no prior experience in the game.
It’s definitely a good change for some and really bad for others.
