Darker more mature tones

Easy there bud, I didn’t take an Anduin down my throat.
Weirdo.

Yeah PTSD will do that to a person… huh, it’s almost like the writing was pointing something out about real life, but I just can’t put my finger on it…

It’s manly to show emotions.

It should be dark humor. Doesn’t need to be adult just dark humor level would be good for me. That said there is plenty of room for everyone. I think there are still plenty of dark moments…i wnt more humor, less cheese. Really I want more character development and to really care about the npcs. They are doing better, but…I know it’s a dirty word, but ffxiv does it a lot better. WoW does a ton of things better than FF, but the character development and story over there is much better. Take that but make it funny, and dark, and give us some of everything…but a bit less cheesy typical fantasy posing type stuff.

I just want to let everyone know that I am not my past and no matter what I did, I’m actually a good person. We should have a new profession called “therapist” so we can talk about how triggers and other feelings.

Nah man after shadowlands we are good for next few expansions don’t need it.

Anduin doesn’t have PTSD.
That’s headcanon.

Yes to less “cute.”

Also, less “modern” political sentiment which leads to bad writing and boring, predictable and one-dimensional characters. It feels so sanitized and cliche these days.

WoW always has had its silly side, but we need more grit back in the game.

Is this a technical term? Never heard of this word.

We just had a zone with a very Suramar-esque vibe, except with creepy giant spider people as both protagonist and antagonist.

We had a zone where a lost order/kingdom of humans is fighting against a weird darkness that takes everything over periodically and brings horrors attacking their outposts and towns. Oh, while some of their members begin to fall to corruption and become evil cultists.

We have the literal Void about to f things up big time in Midnight, and we already know we aren’t going to “win” this expansion because Midnight is coming, and from all hints and teasers, it looks like things get pretty bad for the Horde and Alliance.

I’m not sure how much more edgy people want it before it just becomes Shadowlands 2.0 and starts to become a meme of itself. Is it because Anduin held hands with a woman protagonist so she could help him “feel” the Light again? Did that ruin it for you?

Because so far, a lot of the story (the dwarf stuff aside, I honestly didn’t care for that, admittedly) in this expansion gives me Legion vibes in its latter half.

Of course, it is. The players came up with it on their own because it seemed like a logical explanation. However, this does not correspond to the actual story writing in SL or Hallowfall. Anduin’s crisis stems solely from the fact that he believes he enjoyed inflicting pain on others. That’s also why he refuses to accept the excuse ‘you were just mindcontrolled, it’s not your fault, bro’.

Allow me to translate:

“I don’t like feewings. I’m a manly man that likes fighting and blood with absolutely no concept of what that actually does to a psyche. Grr grr. Reading is too hard for me.”

Pray tell, what does that do to ones psyche, Ms. Armchair psychologist?

Colour me intrigued

Obviously, you did not read the post above yours.
So that’s quite a self-own.

Aw, you are trying to be cute. I can see you have lived a very charmed life free of trauma. That is wonderful for you. Some of us, not so lucky.

Aww, awful lot of assumptions there and avoidance of the question. Curious as to where this crystal ball comes from, do tell me more about myself

I didn’t ask about your trauma (spoilers, everyone goes through hardship), I was intrigued by your apparent ability to diagnose assumed conditions of ones psyche.
