I had a mod from r/wow asking me how old I was and what my menstrual cycle was. Needleless to say I blocked him and never went on that subreddit again!

I actually have all alliance allied race unlocked but mechagnome because it seems so tedious and I don’t know how

…what. How is that remotely relevant to this thread?

Also, OP: Dark Iron has better racials. :stuck_out_tongue: Less customization though.

Dark Iron because neither of those classes can tank.

Lore wise I think you’d be better off going with the dwarf since they’re know to be mountain men anyway. Though I guess it’s all in what you want. Dwarves have stone skin, dark irons move faster indoors and take less physical damage. (I’m going by memory on that so I could be wrong on it.)

Dark Iron…

because they are hot baby!

It really depends on the flavor you want to play, including the character’s purposes.

I would recommend making a mage and focusing getting every available teleportation/portal tomes in combination with the warping spots you can unlock around the world. It’s the most versatile teleporter/warper in the game and it’s pure insanity. As a second character I would suggest making a plate wearer with the Blacksmith profession. Dark Iron Dwarves can produce much faster goods. Their other racial skills are also great.

If you have already an Alliance mage, then I would really recommend paying a race change for a Dark Iron Dwarf. Even if you play alone for transmog hunting, this character can easily move around the whole game to access places.

In term of your wish to play a hunter and shaman: Use the regular dwarf. The second one (shaman) should have Wildhammer customizations. You’re a RP-player, the players around you will appreciate the accuracy here.

I am a life long Hordie. I don’t play Alliance. I have tried multiple times, but just never can keep any semblance of time on an Alliance character.

Hell, I have deleted toons that I used expansion bonus level boosts on.

That being said, it seems to me that the Dark Irons really seem to be more suited to Horde. Their values would probably align with the Horde much more than the Alliance, just as the Night fallen should probably went Alliance.

If Blizzard ever makes all Races starting out Faction Neutral like the Pandaren, then I will be rolling a Dark Iron; For The Horde!!

It’s the dark color which speaks to you and they have been in the Alliance since Cataclysm. I used to dislike dwarves but the WoW-design is very well done.

… what?

Times change. Years ago I would have been horrified that the death knights were joining the Alliance. Heck, the thought of void elves would have been horrifying, nowadays its less so.

I love dwarves, and though Tolkien dwarves are the OG, I really love wow dwarves. Here’s how I’d choose:

Enhancement or Beast mastery- bronzebeard (or wildhammer!)

Elemental or marksmanship- dark iron

Resto/surv- big ol shrug.

Imo the bronzebeard heritage armor is a better fit for mail wearers, compared to the dark iron heritage armor. Just my $0.02.

Just keep in mind that if you play DI:D then you’ll need to have a more red-oriented xmog.

Dark Iron I feel is kind of tied to certain themes. Not every mog is gonna look good with them. If you like those themes, go with DID.

If you want more versatility in your looks, or if you like and plan to do a lot of archaeology, I’d go with a regular dwarf.

The original themes and from the developer’s (and the game’s) suggested class are the Hunters for the Bronzebeard Dwarves. Derastiera is a RPer, that’s why it’s also important to go with the established lore a bit.

Dark Iron Hunters are pretty cool and lore-fitting too. Lot of neat fire-themed guns out there. Wouldn’t go wrong with that option either.

I just wouldn’t put, say, this kind of mog on a DI Dwarf.

Yes, I agree. I’m not knowledgeable enough but aren’t their starter hunter pets exclusive to them because how detailed the model is? There is a big chance I am wrong here though.

Not exclusive, others can get it too.
