Racials imo need to be relevant for the current expac… allowing some to be always relevant while others are stuck in past expansions is not right.

They created this racial. It’s on them to update it.
This is a crucial reason to choose this particular race. Especially if you like running older content.

I was kinda hoping they would get around to it with this last patch. I’ve a small background in programming so it doesn’t seem extremely hard to add a couple more locations and keep the racial up.
Race changed two or three characters away from Dark Iron. If Blizzard is neglecting that race, maybe I will go with another. 
Guess races were just a gimmick for BFA.

Dark Iron is still a fantastic race due to its other racials, and it’s not like the Mole Machine is useless just due to failure to update it for BFA.

True. And it’s not like they haven’t had anything else going on. But it is a failure, IMHO.
I switched at least one of my DI characters into something else which felt more “complete.” Which, I suppose it could be argued, only gives money to blizzard for not keeping up on things. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Wait…Dark Iron mole machines still don’t have access to BFA and SL areas? That just feels lazy tbh. Not a good sign.

This is classic blizz. Create something cool and nifty and then drop it like a sack of wet potatoes never to be touched again next expac. Honestly I’m surprised mages continually get updated city ports expansion to expansion at this point.

You can go to any of the other points you already have from the Shadowlands.

engineering also gives ports all over the world which dont require you to find them first. it gives battle reses and a very useful long term CC. so yeah its way better than mole machines. You probably just don’t do high enough content where it matters. Don’t need battle resses to gilnean RP and pet battle

In some releases, like Shadowlands (plus Legion, WoD & WotLK), the Engineering Wormhole generator is fantastic. In Pandaria it was terrible, because the destination was continent-wide random, thus virtually guaranteed to not be where you wanted to go on a very big continent. In BfA, it was pretty bad – got you to the right continent, which was smaller than Pandaria but random within the continent.
Cooldowns have also varied a lot. Shadowlands is probably the best ever – lots of locations and short cooldown, and especially important as getting from zone to zone is so hard.
Being able to take advantage of both Engineering and Mole Machines, plus all other porting items I’ve collected over the years, there’s pretty much noplace I can’t get very quickly.

While they are at it, they should make the mole machine randomly but rarely put you in a random place that would otherwise be impossible to get to. Hidden rooms, trams, undersea caves, deprecated dungeons, buildings without doors, etc…

Not updated for BfA and not updated for Shadowlands, either. I guess they’re too busy renaming rockets and removing emotes that anyone can replicate by using a /me macro.
