Not really. If we are talking alternate time line, all they have to do is not retcon her being alive with a son. Who hasn’t killed her a thousand times in LBS? If she never comes back in Cata, we don’t have to deal with her in BfA and the DI are free to join whoever they want. And they would naturally go Horde because canonically the Alliance kills Moira and what’s his name so their grudge with the Bronzebeards would only be strengthend.
If you would have paid attention to the story, you would actually know that not all DID are for Moira and her son.
It’s the High Elf-issue. The developers could easily give you the splinter-group of the DID unchanged but they simply don’t do this.
Its always a Blood Elf.
Ew no Dwarves are an Alliance race and should stay with the Alliance including Dark Iron Dwarves and the new Earthen
As for Dranei they should of been a Horde race would of been interesting having Velen tell Thrall about his Father but nah they have them join the Alliance writing Night Elves in a way that made no sense and was super out of character
There’s still time to mend the lore if we discover some artifacts of dar’khan or the amani misuse of the void.
Silly enough, most of these moments make sense for Maiev but we use Tyrande and now Maiev is the forgiving one.
Aw thanks but even my suggestions are crazy.
Ew.
Yes I know this.
What I said is, it’s even easier to just go back a little farther and revert the story back to it’s original form instead of mangling the hell out of it to force Moira back into it. We kill Moira and Dagran Sr in Vanilla but she shows up in Cata which is like 3-4 years later in game with a brand new infant so that they can force the Dark iron back into the story on the Alliance side.
Just don’t do that and the Dark iron as a whole just naturally lean to the Horde after they get freed from Ragnaros’ slavery.
Honestly I’d love if they later stated that those who were exiled that didn’t become Void Elves or join the Alliance were welcomed back as … You guessed ~ “Shadow-hunters” or Void-Trackers, to find infiltrating void threats or void elves who return to Quel’Thalas and deal with them.
Vwalah! ~ Blood Elf Shadowpriests have some cool lore to relax upon.
I think they would be welcomed around Calia as she’s even taking care of the Darkfallen.
…although my idea would toss blood elves in the Forgotten Shadows group.
Yeah, but I’d like to see how the Blood Elves kingdom & people - have their relationship & lore correlate with those of their kind who do ‘meddle in the void’ and are still Blood Elves + aligned with the Horde.
If they had a ‘pass the torch’ thing to the cult of forgotten shadow, I don’t think I’d mind that – however I’d still like their leadership to address it, or have some kind of storyline for blood elves where the void users like shadowpriests are addressed. lol
Manari at least definitely should have been horde. You could easily work it as the manari realising they were wrong after your victory in Legion and wanting to change their ways, but still being distrusted by the Draenei and especially Lightforged Draenei in general. Just because Velen says “Kay you guys are cool now” doesn’t mean all the rest of the Draenei think that.
On top of that, it’d allow them to be a full fledged race, with more different customization options (more scars, wings, etc) and their own unique racial abilities, rather than just Gift of the Naaru but coloured different.
Like, I’m glad that red-skinned Draenei exist now, and Draenei getting more customization options in general is nice, but Manari had so much potential and it has all been squandered. I hate that.
Three Hammers, three clans. Braan and Muradin are part of the same clan, hell they are brothers.
It would the council of 2 hammers with a 2 to 1 ratio in favour of the Bronzebeards.
Say sike rn
Manari at least definitely should have been horde.

With the allied races, there was the opportunity to exchange races between the factions. Instead, everything was left stagnant and for the most part, clones of already existing races were given to the factions.
How boring can it get?
Blizz: Yes.
Take a gnome and slap a metal diaper on it! Draenei except grey with yellow lines, ship it! Dwarf but black and on fire! GIVE IT ALL TO ALLIANCE! And give Horde a tauren with antlers and a brown orc for good measure!
Yep, Blizz sure did do a lot of boring allied races. Nightborne and Void Elves were good at least, though. Well, until the Helfers demands destroyed the core of void elves…
Dark Iron should of been Horde, but we Horde need to remain draenei free.
What does is done, Alliance can keep their Earthen Dwarves that no one asked for.
Alliance can keep their Earthen Dwarves that no one asked for.
What should they do with a third copy&paste version of Dwarves? As you mentioned, hardly anyone has asked for Dwarves with colorful pimples, I mean crystals on their skin. A group of Dark Irons would have been a much better choice for the Horde, especially since the Horde specifically asked for them and for the Alliance, they could have introduced a Horde model that the Alliance don’t already have.
I still hope that in 10.2.6 they will make other races playable and not just stick to this more than boring Dwarf 3.0 version as an “expansion feature.”
there was the opportunity to exchange races between the factions
Already done and it was a big fail. No more of that please.
Dark Iron should of been Horde
With Moira, it’s a big no because she and her son are the ruler of the dark iron clan. It’s like Alliance asking for Tauren because we “got” some Tauren in the Alliance in Cataclym or asking for Sethrak when we just save a “random” Sethrak when Horde does all the stuff after: it doesn’t make sense at all.
At least with Earthen Dwarves, you could roleplay a Dark Iron Dwarf in the side you want if you put an armor on them. Like Void Elves and Blood Elves, we can’t see the difference when they have an armor on them.
boring Dwarf 3.0 version
Crystal beards and crystal hairs for Earthen could fix some problems.
I don’t understand what they got these beards and these hairs. It doesn’t make sens for Earthen.
I still hope that in 10.2.6 they will make other races playable
What races do you want in the 10.2.6? I would like to see Broken (with the future update of the Man’ari quest) for the Alliance and Mok’Nathal or Ogre for the Horde.
Like Void Elves and Blood Elves, we can’t see the difference when they have an armor on them.
How so? The HUD and the HP-bars tells you everything. And as a RPer you might know that enemy plates can’t be changed anymore.
I don’t check the HUD and the HP-bars to check all the races I can meet in my travels moslty in capitals or in pvp.
It won’t be easier now with the Dwarves and four races of the same model (Ironforged/ Wildhammer/Dark Iron/Earthen Dwarves) mostly when we get Horde Dwarves now. Same thing with the 3 Elf races (High/Void/Blood Elves)
At least, Darkspear Trolls and Zandalari Trolls are good to be identified. It should be the same thing for Forest Trolls if we got an allied race.
