There is no reason Dark Iron Dwarves can not or should not be Death Knights! There are even NPC’s like Lady Tamakeen that are Death Knights and yet they are Dark Iron. Lore shows that the Dark Iron dwarves where affected by the Lich King just like the Horde and the Alliance. Have them start at level 20 since it has been awhile of them sitting around or running away from Sylvanas. Could even come from willing participants that want to become Death Knights.
Yeah, gotta agree with this. I rather doubt they were 100% unaffected by Arthas’ shenanigans.
“Dark Iron Dwarf Death Knight” will sure roll off the tongue if we ever get 'em.
Also Mag’har orc dk’s. There’s lore. If not we have the magic solution.
So long as they do start at level 20 (for heritage armor purposes), or are disqualified from earning heritage armor, I see no problem with this. We have solid lore backing and an established NPC presence.
Not to mention blue flames.
The main reason Allied races don’t get death knights, aside from lore, is they just don’t want to update the starting zone. Plus it adds issues of unfairness with acquiring heritage armor too.
And the only ones who realistically could have death knights are Kul Tirans and Dark Irons. No Horde Allies make sense since our death knights were from a certain generation. So it’s easier to just say no death knights for any of them.
Due to discussing how all the allied races work besides orc and dwarfs they could all be Death Knights that became Void elves or Light forged space goats and so on for Alliance and Sylvanas could transform her side in to them.
The race that should definitely have DK available is Void Elf. They’re literally Blood Elves.
Would they be…Dark Knights?
A Dark-Iron Deathknight and a Caped Crusader (Batman).
The first Death Knight was Void/Fel based aka Gorefiend.
Eh the void elf one seems iffy to me. They can’t start in the death knight starting zone because void elves didn’t exist back then. And we don’t know if lightforged can even be raised at all, given their status. Light and undeath don’t like each other.
It just gets complicated and most ways to spin it are tenuous at best, or not possible.
Because Blizz doesn’t want to take the time to put a warning on DID DKs that states you can’t earn heritage armor (even though that same warning appears if you use something like grant a level when you use RaF)
It’s just laziness.
After an Elf or a Space goat finished the DK starting zone they would become void or lightforged since it has noting to do with class.
All of what you said would make sense, if Blizz didn’t completely ruin it already. Lore hasn’t stopped them from adding classes and we already have lightforged undead and demons.
But it has to do with story. A death knight would have to have been on Telogrus for some odd reason at the end of Legion to become void. Which may slightly be possible, barely.
But lightforged is a definite no. Light infusion will actually kill a death knight and none of them would be interested in going that path anyways.
Dark Irons, Zandalari, and Kul Tirans all make sense for plausible races the Scourge could have interacted with.
Dark Irons traveled to Northrend through the Venture Co. Kul Tiras and Zandalar have their own world-travelling navies. Zandalari were even in Northrend in Wotlk.
You would just spawn as a VE DK in the embassy. The DK starting zone isn’t necessary. OR they can do the CoT method and just apply a disguise to VE within the DK starting zone.
They may have no reason to be death knights, but they could make High Mountain Tauren and Nightborne demon hunters. High Mountain has the fel totem and Nightborne has the felborne.
Yeah, there is no reason why they can’t be DK’s, they are literally in game.
I agree with the Nightborne but the highmountain…only if gnomes can be demonhunters aswell!
