Interesting.
Didnât Eastvale state they didnât want to interact with Scarlets at all, and even backed out at one point? And now they complain they didnât have us all marching rank and file at their behest? Goal was to save the prisoners. We did that, sorry you decided to blindly charge into a wall. 10/10 would do the event again.
This thread has gone to such a weird place. I think that while there is valid feedback, this also is not the way to go about doing it. I can understand being so passionate about something that you feel the need to shout something from the rooftops but there is a lot to unpack here.
Its easy to say that youre just providing constructive criticism whilst saying that youre just doing things in a public forum but the way that you all are going about it, your verbiage, your sentence structure, etc - set the tone of your writing which comes off quite hostile.
I didnt have a hand in the planning of this RP-PVP event specifically but I am an officer of UCN and a coordinator of this event so I do see the value in yalls feedback even if I do not agree with the way that yall are presenting it.
I had a great time at this event as someone who doesnt really do PvP because I understand that this is a RP-pvp event. The PvP is secondary to the RP aspect of it - in which for the purposes of the narrative the Alliance gets all of their prisoners back anyway. So while mechanically the Alliance had a disadvantage, for the purposes of RP yall were already poised to win.
I wish I could post a gif of someone eating popcorn right now.
Honestly I have no idea what trust level you need to be to post gifs. I post on these forums way too damn much and I still donât think I have the trust level necessary.
This uh, this certainly went to a place.
First, I would like to say I had fun. Over in the Scarlet camp we coordinated and rescued our prisoners and had quite a few good clashes with Sunfury and Phoenix legion, even a few hand of algalon folks. We protected our prisoners and got them back to the designated objective.
In the spirit of feedback though I will say I can understand where Eastvale and the non-scarlet alliance participation is coming from. Being a fraction of the total number VS a murderball of horde can feel bad.
To that, my suggestion would be to limit the hunters to smaller teams, disperse them into the field at set intervals, and have a few more judges/refs on hand to observe the field and break apart large groups that begin to form.
As this was a highly objective based PVP-RP event, I think it would do a world of good to stress and guide people towards playing the outlined objective and win condition rather than clumping up to simply kill. (Not that just killing ainât fun, cause it is.)
I know it is not a perfect suggestion but I think it could go a ways towards alleviating this very issue of a large number of horde swarming a smaller number of alliance by encouraging the PVPerâs to spread out across the whole of the zone instead of traveling in mass.
This has been my ted talk.

This is sadly the best I can do
Given the edited postâs original tone towards the guild that seemingly brought the bulk of Alliance (not neutral or Scarlet) attendees to the event and who had the Alliance side coordinator on there to boot, maybe itâs best if organizers find a different Alliance guild to field against Hordies in the future.
Iâm sure there are plenty of Alliance guilds with active RP-PVPers that would want to participate, and it would save everyone a lot of antagonism.
Most that know better know of the leaders reputation and would avoid UCN. I donât even really RP anymore and even I know to avoid UCN.
Thatâs unfortunate then.

Did that post that admitted to spying on their discord get deleted? I think that gem was too perfect to deny the whole community a chance to see.
This has been a ride.

Iâm not your father, please check the supermarket.
Yes you are. You know you are. You canât deny what I call you at night sensually.
Thatâs a fair suggestion. I think if they divided themselves up into teams too it would have prevented a lot of the feel bad.
We sort of suggested that in the moment. By having one team go first and then another afterwards. However this sounds more familiar to like, For Honorâs 2v2 system. Where you have fighters side by side but if one wins it can collapse on the other, but they have their own separate objectives to complete first.
Calling me âgigglefiddleâ is very different from calling me a substitute of father-figure, but pop off.
So, from a logical standpoint during the fight, did the Alliance forces attempt to evade the larger force or attempt to use the surroundings to try and make the fight more in your favor? A lot of you guys trying roleplay as military officers, generals and higher ranks didnât bother to consider basic tactics and what if scenarios should you not be at full strength?
âIf equally matched, we can offer battle; if slightly inferior in numbers, we can avoid the enemy; if quite unequal in every way, we can flee from him.â
âThus we may know that there are five essentials for victory: (1) He will win who knows when to fight and when not to fight. (2) He will win who knows how to handle both superior and inferior forces. (3) He will win whose army is animated by the same spirit throughout all its ranks. (4) He will win who, prepared himself, waits to take the enemy unprepared. (5) He will win who has military capacity and is not interfered with by the sovereign.â
âIf he is secure at all points, be prepared for him. If he is in superior strength, evade him.â
âAll warfare is based on deception.â

It sounds like there was plenty of time to hold serious discussion between the Alliance representatives and Scarlet Crusade ones. If anything, the Scarlets played their characters correctly and mostly accomplished their mission.
And even then, if IC talks were held and it seemed like it was favorable you should of had contingencies in place.
Now, to be fair to the other side. If there was roughly two 20 man raids for the Alliance at two different starting locations, then the Horde should of been split and each be equal distant from each other.
However, World PvP always comes down to numbers, itâs always been this way. This is why I avoid it like the plague and prefer to emote my battles against opponents of my choice or circumstance. Perhaps next time, it should be emote focused and just have refs there to officiate groups of battles for various objectives.
However, take this as a learning experience. You know what works, what doesnât work. Perhaps the next time more effort will be put on diplomacy and tactics while the organizers attempt to balance how the battles should actually be played out.
Oh no worries, it is preserved.

Iâm pretty pleased to preserve it cause the conclusions she comes to are just totally not related to reality.
