Yo blizzard… I mean even Stevie wonder would have seen this coming but the moment you scaled up ilevel on PvE items it translated into HIGHER damage output in PvP when a player use any of those items.So what was the net result?, that now in a PvP scenario the resilience numbers from the PvP gear are not enough, you had to scale up PvP gear as well in order to counter the PvE numbers, afterall the mere reason about why you scaled PvE gear was to keep the PvE Sweatlords interested in old PvE content as we moved to the next phases of the expansion. Seriously I mean even a 2nd grade child would have seen this and made a better job, where’s the common sense with the devs at blizzard???

Grasped the concept of punctuation to make proper sentence structure. I get it that you’re upset that you are having a rough time in PvP, but you can also get the same gear. This seems like a “you problem”.
I did some PVP in pre-Patch and it was too bursty.
I did some PVP in P1 and it was too bursty.
I did some PVP in P2 and it is too bursty.
PVP turned into crap the day BC ended. These ILvL stuff may have made it worse, but it’s the nature of WOTLK PVP; 2-3 GCDs and you kill or die. That’s the whole PVP experience.

Most outrage posts like these are based around random BG instead of arena. I find RBG more fun than arena due to bad match making. So I guess their post holds some modicum of value. But you can buy 232 PvP pieces now if I’m not mistaken. They also fail to say how they are going about PvP. Everyone wants to be the hero and rush in and kill 5+ people. That isn’t going to end well regardless of class/spec/talent/et cetera.

You are totally right about the setup, but that was not my point. I am not talking about the areans vs BG vs world pvp. I am not also talking about ILVL and stuff. I am just saying regardless of gear and skill, PVP is generally way bursty in WOTLK comparing with TBC.
Take this example. 2 full BIS PVP war are in a duel. War 1 is standing afk and war 2 is hitting him. in BC it would roughly take war 2, 20-25 seconds to kill war 1. In Wotlk it takes him 10 seconds MAX.
That’s my problem with WOTLK PVP.
I like PvP being Bursty. Out side of burst they are screwed. If you can manage to avoid them or use defense to negate their burst you have a good chance. But you also have burst. PvP is meant to be fast paced. Standing there just whaling on each other is boring. People should be forced to make split second reactions and decisions. I don’t think PvP is in a worse spot simply because new PvE item levels were introduced (which is the OP’s incorrect point).

It’s a crap season because there’s too big of a power gap between the honor gear and raid or conquest gear. Blizzard could have addressed this, but said and did nothing as usual.

simple answer: they dont give a damn about their own game. anyone can see its completely broken. any company worth their salt would have pve gear scale when in battleground, but blizz simply doesnt care enough to make the fix. Its just sad and pathetic. Noones gonna make pvp a hobby or even mess with arenas when the games so blatantly broken

PvP is broken because all the gear is gate-kept behind huge rating / arena point chokes.
Nobody wants to spend 4 weeks to purchase 1-2 pieces of gear. Its a terrible system.
Make furious gear purchasble thru honor and you will see PvP vastly improve overnight.

Yea i was watching some triple R1 stream the other day, they rage quit because they kept dying in 3 sec
As resto I fold in 2 globals vs some comps and i have 1290 resil. I die way faster than last season even though I gained so much resil/stats
That’s wrath I guess. Can’t comment on the ilvl buff since I didn’t play OG wrath or warmane wrath. But I imagine you are right.
just play a comp where you can delete people fast too

I wrote a few lengthy posts way back when they announced they were thinking about this item level buff, and that it would throw off balance in arenas as an unintended consequence. Well here we are.
