Dalaran didn't

Dalaran has been razed to the ground before, but I don’t think it has ever been atomized. So, it’s hard to say what their plans for Dalaran are.

As long as there are no WHITE MALES there I think we’ll be ok.

Oh don’t worry, Jaina pruned that population alright.

Buddy, I feel like this is a you problem at this point. Wow’s writing has never been Pulitzer-worthy, aside from maybe R.A. Knaak’s novels back in the day. It’s just had some really cool moments.

WoW’s writing is on par with, like, a D&D adventure or a Doctor Who episode. It’s campy, it’s fun, it’s silly, and sometimes it’s really cool. But if you start to analyze it deeply, you’re going to be disappointed. That’s been true for the entire life of the game.

Maybe your tastes have changed. It happens with time. I suggest saturating yourself in the sort of quality storytelling you’re looking for. There are plenty of great games that offer it. But you’re not going to get WoW to change what it has always been, you just need to take off those rose-colored glasses.

Edit: This isn’t suggesting that you should quit WoW, it’s suggesting that you find a better source for the thing you’re seeking, too.

I truly have to disagree.

Firstly this. There are no rose colored glasses. I started playing this game as an adult with a fully formed mind, and I can guarantee you the writing was for sure ‘better’ before. We can argue the merits of the writing, but we’d be here all day. Rest assured, I have 0 nostalgia for this toy.

This is not the fault of the product or the story itself. All writing can be examined deeply. If there is crappy flaws, that’s the writers fault. Not really excusable. DnD Stories can be well written, and without plotholes.

Bold of you to assume I have grown up with the product.

Smart, because the ‘just quit wow’ argument is tired, boring even. It’s a way to wave criticism of the product.

BTW I was responding to another user, commenting on someone’s arguments. I didn’t say I was getting bored of WoW. If anything, I’m excited, because everyone seems to dead-set on defending this game and the company to their dying breath. More space for me to stir the pot.

Thanks for being the most reasonable forum partner I’ve had all day. You seem to even read my posts.

You being newer to the franchise does explain why you don’t know about the history of Dalaran.

Either way, my point stands. WoW has ALWAYS been like this. I’ve been here the entire time. It’s not going to become something it isn’t.

If you want some really good stories told in the Warcraft universe, I suggest checking out The War of the Ancients or Beyond the Dark Portal. Both of those books are good primers for the last two expansions and Cataclysm, even though a lot of that has been retconned, sadly.

I may check em out. However, I have to ask, you surely can’t be satisfied with the way the game is treating it’s heros, Khadgar, Anduin, Thrall. You can’t be happy with the state of things.

You may excuse it, but it can’t TASTE good.

Destruction is only a setback. A temporary delay!

I mean, the Legion destroyed Dalaran once before and you know the saying ‘Destroy my city once shame on you, Destroy my city twice shame on me’

It was just it’s time to go, for now. Doesn’t seem like it’ll be gone forever though.

And the changes to the Wondrous Wisdom Ball have people thinking that Khadgar will be back too.

Honestly I don’t believe Khadgar is dead.
My issue is how he was ‘removed’. It’s so pathetic. And it stinks of writers ‘opinions’ (Or MAYBO CORPO opinions) being snuck in to hype up the new strong and feminine cast.

A bit insulting if ya ask me. He’s prolly coming back though, I bet the voice actor is still on the payroll.

I don’t think Khadgar was killed off because of women, lol. Warcraft has always had a strong cast of women. And characters like Alleria and Moira have been around for years. Plus Metzen teased Illidan coming back. Besides him, Anduin gets most of the focus, then there’s Magni, his grandson. Our Delve companion is Bran.

I think it’s a matter of personal focus and offense.

It has always had a strong cast of women.
They didn’t need to put down Khadgar to show it. It’s not just Khadgar, but that’s a little unrelated.

I’m not the only one complaining, but much of the complaints are squashed because of obvious reasons.

Because khadgar didn’t bring the PC as backup, he’d have totally won if he did

I don’t think they did. I think he’ll come back like Gandalf.

If you mean other threads, a lot of those are troll posts.

Bold of you to assume I’m not a troll as well.

<3 Still! People elsewhere outside of the Blizzard Hugbox are complaining as well. Just a pattern people have noticed.

It’s the zeitgeist of the moment to be mad anytime women appear and call everything woke though.

And no I don’t think you are a troll. You aren’t flagrant enough about the subject. Just worried about a favorite character.

I forgot about that. :crab: :crab: :crab:

I should have remembered when I saw all those barrels of melted butter :butter: :butter: :butter: lining the streets of Dal.

The Dark Heart is not a spider. It’s some sort of ancient artifact empowered with incredibly powerful Void essence from Galakrond’s remains (Galakrond being corrupted by Yoggy). It’s like the Dragon Soul, only with Void instead of Order magic.

I don’t have early access, though I could easily afford it. I thought the Nerub show up in Dal for a little while.
