Daily reminder that there still isn't ranked solo queue options for RBG/Arenas

This post is simply to express how badly solo queue is needed, and yes I will bump it every day until blizzard acknowledges this. Queuing skirmishes is worthless and pointless as it doesn’t reward gear or even conquest. Queueing battlegrounds only rewards 8 conquest which does nothing to get your item level a above 200.

The only way to get rating or conquest is to use the archaic LFG system where you spend upwards of an hour sometimes looking for a partner that suits you. If you aren’t a meta spec good luck getting into an rbg as well. Making your own group as a yolo is your only option. But why should I have to spend hours of my day in lfg to do a yolo? It needs to just be its own queue. The same with arenas.

You can try doing yolo 2s, but why should I have to use lfg for that? Solo queue would literally be yolo 2s and yolo 3s. Except it removes the having to use group finder. Why do I need to go through so many extra steps to do yolo 2s? People who push rating will still be able to push rating. People who want to solo queue can climb rating but nowhere near the point that a well coordinated 3s team will get to.

There is no down side to solo queue.

There will be more people playing ranked arenas.

There will be more people queueing rated battlegrounds.

More people learning arenas.

More people getting decent item level on non meta specs.

More people who will want to climb and form their own teams.

It will allow alts to cap their conquest.

It will allow alts to practice arenas against ranked opponents and gain conquest to buy gear.

It avoids the archaic LFG system that is not fixable.

It streamlines everyone into 1 queue.

This is not 2008 anymore. Every other game on the market has solo queue. Most people don’t want to network and make arena friends through lfg to push with. We want to play the game after work without having to have that delayed all the time in lfg.

I watched Stoopz vid on this and his ideas as well as other top streamers respond in a positive way on this.

Bump here for this.

So that sounds good on paper, but the reality is that if there are solo ques, your still going to be paired with garbage players and people who won’t join voice, and you will lose more CR than you gain… but whatever. I can see that being a thing for people with no CR to lose. But if your Stoopz or someone at high rating expecting that your going to be paired with gods and progress together sniffing roses and tasting rainbows, I’m pretty sure your going to be disappointed. It will be exactly like quick match arenas… ping ponging all over the place.

I do like the “Tinder” idea that he had.

My biggest complaint is there could be people out there that you can vibe with very well and have similar goals to yours, but they are either not online or not in LFG. It would be nice not having to jump through dead communities or discords anymore.

“there are no downside to solo queue”

Well, let me tell you some of them buddy ol pal!

  1. Queue times for DPS will be near infinite.
  2. After you sit in the infinite q time and you’re playing a mage, and you get a hunter on your team, or a dk. HOWEVER the enemy is also a mage, but he got partnered with a rogue. YER TOASTED BUD
  3. After you sit the infinite q time again, someone afk’d cause they thought their q would never pop! Oh no! you just lost the game with no chance to win and you’re at the back of the line again!!!
  4. Troll healers who press q to int people. Ban them you say? How will you ban me when I’m healing you, just not trying my hardest?
  5. Unless you queue into non-solo q teams then normal arenas will also have a longer q time.
  6. Now get this one, blizzard makes it so that you can get triple dps in these solo q games (or double dps if its 2s) and the enemy team gets a healer on their team. HAHAA again you wasted your time.

Edit: the only reason solo queue works on private servers is due to a low population. It cannot and will not work with the playerbase wow has.

I’d like solo queue for rank play.

There will be 400 people in solo queue for every legit 3s team queueing against randoms at the moment.

The thing is that everyone would be equally as likely to get paired with a bad player. In that instance, if, hyperbolically speaking, you were the only good player in the entire game, that means the only group with any advantage is your own.

Yes, players will be bad and you will lose games to idiots being bad. However, as you demonstrate your individual skill and ability to pull weight the chances of you being paired with a mongoloid go down.

It won’t fix the problem, certainly, however the consequences will be significantly less as finding another partner will only take 2 minutes or less as opposed to, potentially, hours sitting in LFG hoping some rando will be good.

Basically, solo queue would remove the interim.

This isn’t as terrible as most people assume, as 2s would most likely be either completely random or function like skirmishes now, where a team would only receive a healer in a 3v3 scenario. What’s more, this acts off the assumption that group forming as it is does not already take forever.

The thing is you would be just as likely to wind up in that mage/rogue comp as an enemy mage. The one thing it would do is restrict the number of rogue/mage comps in the queue overall, which for a lot of people would be a good thing.

Once again, this is already the status quo. The million dollar difference is you wouldn’t have to sit in LFG skimming the personals or waiting in your own ad hoping someone worth it is even willing to play with you

If the troll healer is, indeed, simply a troll healer then the likelyhood of you getting them every game is fairly low and, what’s more, their rating will most likely stay low while yours will eventually climb. In the instance where this is a try hard troll raising their rating just high enough to tank the rating of people actually trying, then that likelihood goes down even further. You can apply the logic to a healer who is simply bad.

Solo queue is solo queue. If the group is preformed then they wouldn’t be allowed to solo queue. And as for longer queue times that’s fine, as you’d still be saving time by entirely skipping the whole LFG slog.

And guess what? If the match up is that bad you can bounce.

Nah, solo queue will be wildly more popular than the current arena format.

And sometimes you will end up on the end that gets the good comp vs a bad comp.

If we didn’t have game mode because people might troll we would have 0 game modes in WoW.

No one that advocates for solo queue cares about this.

This cannot happen if they make solo queue or it would be dumb. They need certain algorithms to ensure this isn’t an issue and make sure that triple DPS vs triple DPS doesn’t have one side with a ton of immunities (pally/hunter etc) vs another side with 0. I’m not saying solo queue won’t have issues, but the ones you are worried about are mostly trivial.
