The ring is fine now for those of us who actually benefit from it. Yes the lack of secondary stats hurts dps but the stamina increase helps keep us alive longer so we make up that little bit of dps loss. It’s not unusual to forgo a little bit of power for more survivability.

This ring is hilarious and will separate out those who actually DPS sim gear vs those who just equip “higher item level”.

Reminds me of the old days of having to see who was too stupid to not have gems socketed, max level enchants, or gear with stupid stats.

Next they should put in a gear item called “stat stick”. Make it a 2x4 model two hand weapon with ilvl 1000, a “Plank” face drawn on it from “ed, edd, and eddy”, and no stats but stamina (or even better, bring back resistances…make it all frost resistance). It should have a damage range of 1-2dps. Then we can wait and see who equips it.

In addition, all other Singing Citrine effects are increased based on your total Mastery

TIL that 16k loss = FAR WORSE when you are doing 1M dps lol

Ok now not that you just trolling now, but you’re pretending now the care about 0.00001% difference. Seriously get your priorities right. Get a life it won’t hurt.

LOL that what basically my comment, if losing 16k dps when you are doing 1M dps is a big deal then its time to quit this game for you

It’s not a big deal but I still don’t see why I’d wilfully do it. Let alone be happy about it.

If he said that his DPS dropped from 1 mill to 700K I would say yea stick with your old ring. But literally dude came up with some percentage pretending it’s not playable anymore at all.

Hmm that doesn’t math. It would have to be a 160,000 dps loss. I will rerun the sim

edit, my original math was correct.

because they want to lock you in for weeks at a time to play because they still think that’s the right move lol but in reality, it makes people log in and then log off XD imagine if you could just play the game and upgrade it wow what a thought.

With the ring I lose 54k dps on a patchwerk sim and 71k on dungeon slice. That’s vs a 619 crit haste ring with 2 sockets equipped with haste gems.

Then I equipped an old 200 ilvl legendary to simulate an empty ring slot since you cant sim with an empty slot:
patwerk vs old legendary ring was +12k dps lol
dungeon slice vs old legendary ring +16k dps

Are we sure sims are correctly calculating the new gems? If they are then idk what the heck Blizz was thinking. Now everyone’s ilvl’s will be inflated but performance will be worse. Right as Blizz is trying to salvage what’s left of the M+ season.

16k dps is kind of massive if you think about it. That’s 960,000 overall damage for 1 min and 4.8 mil for a 5 min boss fight which is significant. cant confuse dps for overall damage.

Twice they have released a ring like this and twice they’ve said it would be BiS. Do the devs even know what BiS means or do they just throw that term out there and hope people buy into it?

Math wise looks big. Practice wise it’s not. Maybe I’d you’re competing in world first, or M+ tournament and want to compete a +20 in 7 min then it matters.

Can any new gems be obtained from random drops? Or, do they only come from weekly quests?

Except that’s ignoring the context of ALL of the other damage you are doing. If you are doing 1M dps, then yes, 16kp is very very tiny.

They both play and design the game* and yet they can’t seem to figure out what items are or will be BiS.

*allegedly

Weekly quests only. Meaning it could take 3 weeks for this thing to be worth equipping, even if it gains 3 ilvl a week.

I guess it is roughly a 1% overall damage loss, but a loss is still not desirable when it was stated from the devs as a clear choice for the remainder of this season and into the next.
