I had all the mats for it. But the question mark above his head remained gray instead of yellow for turn in.
So i reloaded the game, nothing, then i abandoned the quest, which deleted my tusks i farmed from the trolls along with the other mats that i now have to farm again.
Anyone know a fix for this incase it happens again? Goofy ahh game
First thing would be is to unload all addons. At this point addons are just known to cause UI issues.
The other thing would have been to verify that while you actually had all the mats that you actually had all of them in your bags because all the way back in the actual Vanilla days with actual GMs answering tickets I once wasted their time because I told them the scarab shell quest from ZF was “bugged” as the quest said I had all the shells, but would not let me turn it in.
The GM politely asked me to verify if I had any in my bank.

I definitely had all the mats, it was completed and ready for turn in, in the quest log.
Im now wondering if its because i had another quest that required the tusks as well. I had already turned in that quest, but the only thing i can think of is it was considering part of those mats as being the other quests pieces. If that makes sense.
My point is that the quest log will tell you you’ve completed the objective even if the mats are in your bank so if you didn’t verify the mats were quite literally in your actual bags you could have played yourself.
It’s possible, but the quests are pretty dynamic in adapting to changing information so if you got both quests, farmed up to 30, turned in 9, and then went back to farm the other 9 it should be able to figure it out.
Honestly my money is on addons as I’m assuming you did check your bags when you couldn’t turn it in.
Yeah i did check my bags and for sure had everything on me. Perhaps it was the addons. I did a /reload and have never had issues turning in a quest lol.
I read online other ppl having the issue and saw someone say abandon the quest and you wont lose the items you farmed and itll fix it. But i shouldve known better

mmm In my case it counts the stuff in the bank. Like the quest you need 15 silk, I had cloths save in the bank and when I pick the quest it mark it as complete.
A Questie error perhaps?
Without any addons it also counts quest items in your bank towards the finishing of a Q, but not those in your mail.
i dunno what to tell you mate but it doesn’t count quest items in the bank for me, never has
You must sure have some special version of WoW downloaded then. I have done this several times from Vanilla until recently.
I spent FOUR hours grinding gnoll paws once.
I had three in the bank.
I just tested. Here you see the results. I hunted 4 Prowler claws and put them in the Bank at TB: 4/4 Prowler claws as per Quest objective. Grey ? over the head of Melor Stonehoof, and “Continue” greyed out in the Dialougue.

I literally have the 30 tusks for the whirlwind axe quest in my bank right now, and it shows 0/30 in my quest log maybe it’s different for different quests? all i know is my own experience buddy.
Show a screenie with you in bank, mouse hovering over tusks in bank AND Quest counter open.

Nah wow definitely includes bank stored mats against quest objectives. If I recall that has always been a thing.

Are you absolutely sure you had the correct tusks? There are several tusk quests within that range and the icons on some are the same also.
Putting the items into the bank and taking them all out again should fix the quest issue btw. Works with similar quests.
