#free vancleef.
Lets split a drink, it’s not poison, promise.
True but even when reported a lot of things aren’t fixed and it comes down to a very odd, interesting almost comical contradiction.
Something is deemed not game breaking so it’s low priority, that makes sense. But then it’s low on priority so by the time they get to it it’s no longer relevant so it never gets fixed.
Case in point the box of many things from Torghast, fully completing the box should award you an achievement and a pet. For my main, and going from wowhead many other people, this didn’t work and of course no one at Blizz give you an achievement or reward despite seeing the actual task is complete.
Meaning we had to do the box grinding on a second character to see if that would work.
So Cs reports, but report, forum thread all lead to absolutely no help
idk looks awfully green.
Could you sound anymore like an entitled consumer?
Do you also go off on McDonald’s cashiers when they have to charge you extra because your weird orders don’t normally appear on the everyday menu?
McMuffin machine broke, come back later.
I demand to see the manager.
I am the manager.
is that so?
get me your district manager.
They died.
get me your regional manager then.
They’re also dead.
Everybody who used to be in charge, is dead.
Do you have drones hovering over your house at night, too?
I’ve had a GM reward an achievement I earned but didn’t get credit for (I gave them proof of completion and the bug) and also mark a quest as complete for another bug (again gave proof). Both of these were maybe 2-3 years ago.
Recently however they didn’t help me with something and told me their policy is “observe and report” only - never seen them use this language before. Has there been a change in philosophy lately?
Edit: Admittedly the recent request was for a gold refund for an item that didn’t work for the Felcycle mount due to Warmode. Although I think this frustrating it’s somewhat understandable, not wanting to set a precedent for gold-type refunds.
Same here. I earned the “of the Black Harvest” title and did not get the achievement. A GM granted me the achievement which one can see the date on, proving it.
probably because it was a gold related item and not an actual item. therefore they can refund gold but not give ‘unearned items’ that the game has no record of giving you due to said bug?
The key word here is “earned”. Now the postmaster does the same function automatically. If your character was on the loot table and awarded loot, the loot will be sent to your mailbox. They literally handed over the GM tool to the players/put it in game. If the post master can’t send it, then GMs could not award it either. That means the char was not on the boss loot table, or there is no log of the char being awarded the item.
It is automated, true. But not artificial intelligence. Those words are really over used. They don’t apply to everything with computer programming.
Most of the in-game GM tools are now in the hands of players:
- Character Unstick
- Item Restore
- Character undelete
- Mail restore
- Lost Boss item distribution via Postmaster
- Item refund timers for many vendor purchases - puts it in the hands of the player to resolve a mis-click before equipping or modifying it. GMs are now hands off that.
There are still a few things where the GM tools have not been given to players. Those are few and far between though. They can help if an unstuck tool does not work. They can help with Ongoing Harassment tickets, or real life threats. They mostly handle Social Category Appeals, Billing/Purchase issues, Account access issues, etc.
They have never been allowed to just give people items whenever someone demands it, give game hints, take bug reports, fix bugs. There are rare times the Devs tell them to handle a specific bug and give them instructions and tools to do it, but that is rare. Mostly them tinkering with accounts makes things worse when the Devs patch it.
This article here does a good job covering some of the things that GMs can do, and not do.
It helps to remember that there are many different teams at Blizz with different responsibilities.
If Blizz needs cash, cut all customer support. They don’t help with anything. To create a ticket is so convoluted that the whole help section should be removed from the website.
