[CS Lounge] Winter Veil Cheer - Cozy Up with Hot Cocoa

We’re looking forward to some Lake effect snow, but most of that is going to be to the west. That’s kind of an advantage of being closer to the east side of the state - most of the snow fizzles out before it gets to us. On the other hand… I love snow.

Today’s snack is wasabi peas. Yummy!

That song is surprisingly hilarious when you add unnecessary censorship.

My work called and asked me to come in and I’m like “but OT” and store manager has apparently said NP, you can have OT, which they rarely do for my department. So I assume people are already in there being feral.

Happy Friday folks! It might snow a little today here but not stick. Sunday/Monday we may get real snow but I think I am on the north side of the storm so won’t get more than a couple inches. I was actually thinking I want to build a snowman for real so kind of hope we get more.

Yikes! Stay safe from the irrational feral humans. Prepare like there were zombies attacking!

/Tidies up the lounge, sets out hot, fresh vats of coffee, hot water for tea, cocoa, all the teas, creamers, and toppings/fixings. Places some of her favorite cranberry muffins on the food buffet along with assorted fruit like little easy peel tangerines.

That’s how it feels, but also it feels like that’s what they are doing. Like, absolutely, make sure you have the essentials, but we don’t live in the snow belt - it is not necessary to buy six weeks’ worth of groceries. Not to mention, we’re more the freezing rain belt, and that means ice which means power outages. Is this really the time you want to buy $300 of meat? Yet I’ve seen people do just that in times like this. If you’re going to stock up, stock up on peanut butter and canned things that can be eaten without heating if it comes to that.

No, too much tomato.

Oh goodness. YES. Been there. Done a week without power due to an ice storm. We had a generator though and a wood burning furnace so we had partial power for essential things like the fridge, heater blower motor, freezer.

Those folks are going to end up with a $300 BBQ if they lose power and have to cook it all ASAP!

I rarely leave the house so I really do have enough for many weeks. I can make a heck of a lot of stuff, esp if I still have power. Even if I don’t I have camp stove and a grill.

SO glad I don’t have to face the zombie hordes today or this weekend! At least you can get some good people watching in and have a few amusing stories.

I normally like lots of lettuce on a burger but in this case it seems kind of pointless.

I do miss watching the snow with a lovely glass of red wine, but I don’t miss having to stock up and the “run” on my local store.

I stick to warm beverages now instead.

I just got to flop down on my couch after being out since early this morning. Feral is being quite generous. It didn’t help matters that with it being the 3rd, a lot of people got their state benefits today. But! Somehow I survived, made it home in one piece. After I prop my feet up for a bit, my search continues for wherever I have put this stupid mop. Of all things to lose, I’ve been on the hunt for the bloody thing.

I mean … if it’s bloody … you may have burned it to get rid of evidence?
