[CS Lounge] We're gonna teach 'em how to say goodbye

Every time I see more Black Myth: Wukong info, the more I just want it to already be here.

But also disturbed by the current accusation levied against the developer regarding a certain player demographic. :weary:

Wonder if this explains the people getting overcharged from AH in the bug forum
Addressed multiple issues causing degraded Auction House performance.

Fixed a bug causing Incoming Amount to display the incorrect value for sales of commodities in full stacks.

Why are people still arguing with that guy just flag and move on its not worth it.

Mix of ensuring the guy knows how wrong he is and boredom. More of the latter most likely since trying to drive in the former is like talking to a brick wall.

But whats the point obviously he doesnt care and and is probably laughing at us being white knights of blizzard. Just feels like alot of unecessary comments.

We’re all guilty of it now and again. Some folks didn’t get in until it was after the worst of it happened. It’ll all likely be locked up once folks catch up in the AM. People will think as they will, White Knights or whatnot. Sometimes the back and forth does end with someone learning from it and turning about. Doesn’t happen as much as I would personally like, but to each their own. This fellow is obviously one who doesn’t really care, but did try and given them a fair shot before I bowed out of it.

One day, perhaps. One day!

Even if they only do it on the back end for their own amusement, that would be enough for me to know they can have some fun with it.

A lot of arguing with people like that isn’t for the sake of the person with whom you’re arguing. It’s for the sake of whoever is watching. You’ll never change his mind, but the silent watchers on the sidelines may be swayed.

This applies to real life as well.

I’ve had it happen a few times, where someone came in guns blazing and after some chatting (or raging, as is sometimes the case), they’re able to be taught where they were incorrect and got them eventually pointed in the right direction to get the help they needed. I’ve seen plenty of other CS folks do the same, and when you get random likes from stuff months or even a year ago? It really does help to know you have really helped folks no matter the bickering and crazy mess people bring here when they’re upset.

Oh for sure. As long as you’re keeping cool and rational, and not being insulting, then yeah, that’s the best way to teach. (And frankly, Leil, that’s always your approach!)

But when it comes to guys like Abracadabra or whatever his name is, well. You know. :stuck_out_tongue:

There are some out there who believe very differently, but I try to be decent, even if I’m not one for couching things kindly all the time. xD Just try to help folks out as best I can since I’ve got the free time to do it. And if we’re busy here, it keeps me from meandering over to the pit that is GD.

Cool and rational doesn’t necessarily equate to being gentle, don’t worry.

And gods, yeah. GD hasn’t changed in 15 years. Always a cesspit.

Today I learned that there is such a thing as a Boston Creme doughnut that isn’t chocolate-glazed. I did not realize that, despite the drive-thru menu board and the app showing a chocolate-glazed item, there were other options and I needed to specify exactly what I wanted.

Today, I ate my first ever powdered Boston Creme. It wasn’t terrible, just not what I wanted. I am shocked to discover that I can be disappointed by a doughnut. :doughnut:

o.O See, that is what I know as a Bavarian cream donut. The custard is the same in that and the Boston cream, just that the Boston is chocolate glazed and Bavarian is the powdered sugar variant.

There is a subtle difference between the fillings of Bavarian and Boston Cremes (though you’re right, most people use the names interchangeably). I’ve never seen an example of either that wasn’t chocolate glazed. The only filled doughnuts with powdered sugar I’ve ever encountered were jelly-filled.

There’s a place “Up Home™” that makes the best filled doughnuts - they fill them from both ends, so there’s filling all the way through. Cool place, too - a bunch of cops in a small town opened a doughnut shop. “Cops and Donuts.”

So I scrolled through Dunkin’s doughnut menu, and that seems to be the case with them as well. Lesson learned, I guess. Though now I know they didn’t actually give me what I ordered.

Gota be whipped creme for me dont like the pudding one.

Reminds of the song Donuts by The Ink Spots.
