Yeah, I think you’re going to get the storms first before they head this way! Might have to batten down the hatches!!
The big line of storms pretty much developed just east of town. There’s still some hope of rain here, but not much. But we have all day tomorrow to get some rain, too. And we really need it. We’re in a “severe drought” right now, even as St Louis got flooded last week. Heck, even about ten minutes north of me gets regular rain.
Yeah, we’re in a drought up here in CO, too, but it’s been a really wet summer. The problem with this kind of drought, though, is that a single year of rain doesn’t really cancel it out–we’d have to get several years in a row for that drought to be considered lifted.
Early this year in California, the entire state was taken out of drought with a very small portion in the far northeast of the state was still in. A few months down the road, and the entire state is in severe drought. The LA river was so overflowing when we moved out of drought but the state and county did nothing on sending the water to a water treatment facility. They instead let it run off into the ocean.
I have said many times. California does not have drought issues. It has watwr storage issues that lead to drought conditions.
Yes, and our childish governor who likes taking potshots at other governors and states while blatantly disobeying his own orders early in the pandemic. He did a Boris Johnson and went to a party without masks during the height of the pandemic after signing an executive order that parties were prohibited and masking was required everywhere.
Being from the SF Bay Area i have a special kind of loathing form your current head of state
Though that is dangerously close to getting into devisive conversation, so i will not elaborate lol.
I’m from Texas, and have a loathing for the current head of the state there for obvious reasons. I do miss the no state taxes thing from Texas though and the better roads. You’d think with a $92Billion state surplus they could repair the roads here rather than slurry over them.
When i moved.from Ca to Ok the very first thing i noticed as an immediate roadnimprove.ent upon leaving the state.
Second was semi trucks not reduced to 55 mph lol
Missourians love to complain about their “terrible roads.” They just need to head up to any of the northern states (:cough: Michigan :cough:) to see terrible roads. There’s a picture somewhere of a sheriff standing in a 3-4 foot deep “pothole”; that’s definitely not the norm, but there are some car-killers up there.
At least yours is doing something, the one here in NYC is…let say they’re the kind of person whom want to make an impact, but nothing in the way of anything good. If you want to learn what I mean, google nyc school foods.
Its raining. Yay for now. It will help keep the temps down. Not for ling rhough. Which means thus afternoon will be extra humid.
About to do some laundry for the boys, then Boogy has a meeting at 12. After that we off to Wallyworld to get him some shirts for school. Perhaps some shoes. Miggt take him to the mall though and get him some better than Walley shoes. Undecided honestly.
Sounds like the Twin Cities. In the past twelve months, I’ve replaced three tires and two wheels. You’d think it wouldn’t be this bad, considering my 8-mile commute has five detours due to roadwork.
Dad’s in town for his annual road trip. Today’s plans include a sightseeing river cruise on the Mississippi and a trip to our favorite cheese shop so he can stock up on Carolina Reaper cheddar, and probably a stop at my local liquor store because they happen to stock his favorite Reisling.
Our favorite German restaurant is only open for carryout (not ideal, as it’s a bit of a haul to get there); I need to call to see if we can dine on the patio. The backup plan is a trip to another restaurant in S. Minneapolis that I’ve never visited before. That’s on tomorrow’s agenda.
It rained yesterday. It’s raining now! Woo Hoo. I hope it keeps up.
I swear. Every time I play Geoguessr, I’m almost always right about a Michigan location simply because of the roads.
Okay airlines need to stop playing WoW and thinking they are running flight paths, lol.
I get to /wave to my house twice on a return trip in a few weeks.
Oh, this is odd. We just received our renewed passports today and hubby got the older version whereas I received the Next Generation version of the passport.
I told him guess that makes him Kirk and me Picard, lol.
Well the good news is my car is finally paid off!
The bad news is my vacation, scheduled for a week from today, is probably not going to happen. One of my two co-workers got pulled for jury duty for two weeks starting on the 15th. Bummer. At least we don’t have a “use it or lose it” vacation policy; we can accrue quite a bit of vacation before we lose it.
Never read the main comics (just a short story or two) but the Sandman show is amazing, and my partner says it’s very faithful to the comics.
10/10 from me!
Gonna spend the day with my nephew. Got tickets to a Comic convention at the Expo Center.
