{CS Lounge} The Light and How to Swing It

All of the schools will be closed here until the end of the month or more if they deem it necessary. A relative of mine works at a credit union that has most employees working from home now. Members can only come in by appointment and only for things they can’t do online or in the drive thru.

My father is really upset that his credit union is talking about members needing to do as much online banking as possible because they may have to close the building to members. He doesn’t online bank at all as he hates computers and cell phones and rarely uses his debit card. He’s even mad that I told him about it.

As of today, all 22 school districts in this county have suspended classes until further notice. I assume many of the suburban schools will offer on line classes (I know at least one of the Catholic schools is) and they say arrangements are being made for the students from the city schools who get lunch and/or breakfast through the schools. A lot of parents caught on short notice will be scrambling to find arrangements for their kids.

My sister is one for example. Gonna be entertaining her kids for the next week and making a trip to the food bank so I can have enough to feed them. I usually buy enough groceries for me and dad.

had my homestyle shake-n-bake chicken…it was quite good. hoping i can get a good nights rest tonight, so i’m thinking of opening my window and closing my bedroom door for a few hours, maybe let some fresh air in…so long as it doesn’t let any b-u-g-s in that is. <.<

Arthritis is kicking my hiney today

Hey Mast.

Keep in mind, if you unsub… we’re still here. I started my sub on day one (Pu, I didn’t need this looked up). After a few years, we took some time off and checked out other products. We eventually came back (about a year ago) when other regulars pointed out some really neat things.

You’ve seen it said many times, I’m sure. You’ll be back. And it’s not a bad thing (contrary to numerous trolls).

As you’ve seen, everyone is welcome here. Even the lurkers (I see you old man).

Have a great day

Seconded. I’ve canceled several times @Mastadon. If you need a break you need a break! Heck, I’m barely playing at the moment.

This is the one thing I do

This week I FINALLY can do a full clear, not with masks or anything. So I’ve done that a couple times. I must have finally got high enough in the research trees, after getting the highest one then going back to ones I skipped now.

I’m not bothering to do the dailies everyday, though. I just get drained.

I’ve had my “change of seasons” cold/cough for about a month; The problem is that I’m in Nebraska and the season is refusing to change (was getting warmer, then decided to snow March 13th, which was odd…) As you might guess, having this for so long is now making me paranoid (but it predates any knowledge/spread of COVID-19, especially for Nebraska.) It is just a very minor occasional cough now, also I’ve had no fever/chills.

I’ve not noticed a “run” on stuff here, though we’ve had a few cases of COVID-19 (lady who went to California, in self quarantine with her family) Plus, being in Omaha NE, Wal-marts are no more than 7 minutes from each other. So the volume is so high, VS. the population of the people here (evidently we hate to drive far?) which makes it so it isn’t as bad.

Schools are closing for at least a week here.

Some of this seems like wacky paranoia to me, at this point. I had H1N1, in 2009 (when I didn’t even realize it was a bad thing in 2009), where I felt like I was going to die for a week and a half. Luckily ( well, if you could call it LUCK), it happened 3 days into my two week vacation from work. So I only actually missed two days of work at the end of it.

Got to work this afternoon to learn we now have a ‘contactless delivery’ option. We leave your order at your door, retreat to our vehicle and call to let you know your food has arrived. You take the food and leave the money or signed CC receipt, which we retrieve once you are safely inside. If change is required, we repeat the process.

New boss is upset with me because I could not remove the smirk from my face as this was all explained to me. He’s a 40-year-old smoker who believes himself to be at “high risk of death”, and felt that I was mocking him.

Need to come up with something for dinner tomorrow. I got a bunch of chicken legs de-thawing in the fridge. Gonna try to make crock-pot buffalo chicken legs. Need to run to the dollar store in the morning for the buffalo sauce.

Is that synonymous with ‘re-freezing’?

Ok. Glad I was not the only one.

What happens when the contact less option does not go as planned, or a customer gets offended? I am assuming this was the reason for the smirk haha.

No, I put 2 $20s out there. The wind must have blown one away. That is on you guys not me. I want my change. I can already see it.

As the customer has to actually request the contactless delivery option, I don’t foresee them getting offended. So we don’t have to actually put their food on the ground, we’re supposed to bring an empty pizza box in a plastic bag. We put that on the ground, then put the food on it. In the event of wind, I’d probably instruct the customer to tuck the money into the bag or empty box.

I’m struggling to find a way to explain the smirk without coming off as a crass, callous jerk, and I don’t want to risk offending my friends here in the lounge, sooo… Discretion is the better part of valor. :speak_no_evil:

managed to get 8hrs of sleep last night. now if can keep that up for another couple days, i might finally get back to a decent sleep schedule. =_=

other than that, it’s a sunny day outside, another 20 days before i’ve made another trip around the giant orb of ultimate doom, common folk call “the sun”, thinking of having left over sloppy joes for dinner, and while i DO have fish fillets in the freezer…something about them isn’t appealing to me. guess i’m just tired of fish now. .-.

Well, I am gonna do something I haven’t done since my mom passed in 2005…

Gonna go to church.

I haven’t even gotten that far on either my main NA account or my EU account. I’m almost done the quest chain on both - the first try of the corrupted vision, just after you get the cloak. There have been just so much more I wanted to get done more than that.
