[CS Lounge] - Sword and Shield!

Today is 313 day! March 13 ends up being the area code of Detroit! Sanders fudge, Faygo pop, and Bettermaid chips for all!:ice_cream::cup_with_straw:. I’d give you all a car but that’s a bit out of my budget.:red_car:

Ooo. Forgot about Sanders. I’ll take a sundae! :ice_cream:

Good story bro, LoL

(Am I playing this right?) Lol

@Perl… I’m sure I don’t know what you mean… :wink:

LOL (yes, I’m being a bit disingenuous using lol here)

ASAP pre dates the net, being a military term before it was a corporate term before it was an internet thing.
Army terminology “AS SOON AS POSABLE”
corporate terminology “NOW IF NOT SOONER AS_HOLE”
internet thing “now”.

Having lived in each environment, I’m quite sure of my interpretation.

The book of faces appears to be borked. Guess that means I should stop procrastinating and do something, huh?

As have I. I guess that’s why I didn’t realize it might need to be interpreted.

wow Facebook is down.

Weird, I’ve never heard corporate usage with that last word in it.

posted on the wrong toon again, I have to reset my browser to defaults. Facebook is still down.

Yeah, its been down for about an hour.

If I cannot surf FB, might as well get dinner started. Making Chicken Parmesan again.

What’s a Facebook? Just kidding. (I didn’t say LOL). I have never had a facebook acct and never will. No interest.

Army works with posable mannequins? (Yes, yes, I get that possible was the actual word meant, but posable amuses me.)

Were you in the white color part of the corporate environment, or down in production?

The factory floor isn’t much like product development, product development isn’t the same as research labs, research has a totally different culture from sales, sales is not the same as marketing, marketing isn’t really in touch with the culture of middle management, middle management is only tenuously connected to upper management; and the various support cadres of each are yet another environment.

At one time one of my jobs involved interfacing with product development, research labs, sales, marketing, and customers (and their diverse cultures) much of the job seemed like being a translator.

By far the most uncomfortable part of the job was meeting one on one with the upper management of the customers (CEOs and owners sometimes) and being the “voice” of my (Fortune 50 and component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average at that time) company as an hourly employee.

The only way I have to see what’s going on with two of my three children.

Ask someone with the 3rd U.S. Infantry (“The Old Guard”).

Ignoring my incompetent spelling; when doing the changing of the guard at Spandau Prison, or crossing into the Soviet zone in convoy, it sure seemed like one was a posable mannequin sometimes.

I’d try leaving a few bananas around for bait. That will lure him back!

Did you know Detroit-style pizza is a thing? It’s absolutely a thing and I was so surprised when I got down here and found a couple pizzerias that do it. One’s even called Via 313. I haven’t been able to get there yet but I want to.

Edit: Got the name wrong.

Personal preference:

1 - My own home town pizza parlors, of course

2 - New York City pizza

3 - Detroit style pizza (odd shape but good)

4 - St louis style pizza (the cheese is just strange, not as good as Mozzarella)

5 - Chicago style pizza (the crust is just wrong - cake not pie?)

12 - Most alleged pizzas west of the Rockies (don’t get me started, may as well just order Dominos, at least that resembles a real pizza)
