My general manager and I have spent the last month training a new district manager (because you have to be able to run one store before you can oversee a half dozen stores). I stopped by Saturday night to see how everything was going and she pulled me aside to let me know that she’s being sent to another store for her next phase of training.

This new store is brand-spanking new and struggling - poorly-trained staff and disorganized inventory control. She’s asked my GM to help her assess the staffing and training issues, and me to overhaul the back room. Made me feel all warm and fuzzy to have my efforts recognized beyond the usual ribbing about my alleged OCD from the rest of the staff. :blush:

I refuse to train any more bosses. I’ve trained my current supervisor because I’ve held the position and I felt sorry for him. Now he’s a complete and total adult explictive . Nope. No mas.

This trainee wasn’t so bad… after I got past her unbound enthusiasm. She doesn’t seem as brain-dead as the rest of our cadre of DMs, though I suspect the final phase of DM training involves a lobotomy, so we shall see.

I’m training one of my bosses how to do my work. After a bunch of emails from me about untrained minions, she decided to check that I wasn’t pulling her leg.

She’s now admitted to other managers how hard the work is. Now I’ve got full reigns to retrain people. So happy. Only took 2 years.

I need you to know, reading that just gave me a chill. I still think that is so unbelievably cool that I “know” somebody that actually made an influence on this game so much that there is a reference directly due to them contained with in the game.

I don’t even have words to express how proud I am am to say that I got to witness this, from your announcement to the post I just responded to, and getting to know you and your posting style via these forums.

Tonight is skate night for the kiddo at school. We have been through a lot, and I have forced him to do a lot of internal inventory, even though he does not realize it. I am feeling better, not great, but better. I think I can muster the will and energy to get out and let him fall on his booty some at the local skating rink. Me? I will be sitting there not doing anything more haha. I am nowhere near ready for any sort of physical exertion. Putting inventory away today had me winded. Made me thankful my boss was not there today, and texting me a list of office work she needed me to complete for her.

You mean sit down, catch my breath, proof read your assessments, print them and deliver them? Verify with nursing new resident dietary restriction and ensure everything set up proper on our end? Speed check the order to make it easier for you? Yes ma’am. EZPZ stuff. I know that is 1 millionth of her job, but hey I got the easy stuff while she is out sick.
