Or at least tell me why my “experience does not match our current needs,” even though I just applied for a job I did for five years.
For me it’s applying for a room to rent…and I’m running out of time.
I know these people are being inundated with contacts. It just frustrating. I have to complete with college students and they are the target for most people in the area.
Of course - they’ll pay more. On the other hand, classes will end up going online only pretty quickly, I’m thinking. The university here in town started classes this week, and there’s already at least 150 active cases (out of approximately 30,000). And with the way college kids are, that number is only going to go up.
Job hunting is just about my least favourite thing.
I hope you won’t have to look again for a long time.
I was recently made permanent at my job. Sigh of relief, that was.

A coworker is in a similar, though self-inflicted, situation. He determined that he had finally saved enough to make a down payment on a small house, so he declined to renew his apartment lease. Turns out his strong feelings about credit use have had an adverse impact on his rating and, therefore, his ability to get a mortgage. His landlord opted not to let him stay in his apartment on a month-to-month basis.
He has spent the last two months trying to figure out where he was going to live, going so far as to entertain the idea of purchasing a <$2000 small RV (or large-ish conversion van with a combo shower/toilet). Finally, out of desperation, he approached another coworker with an available basement room, who agreed to let him and his cat stay for no longer than two months. Hopefully it buys him the time to find something permanent.
In other news, I grow weary of the ‘let the cat choose her human’ paradigm. I just dropped $150 on litterboxes and toys, and am eager to get her in to see my vet, but the other two are still quibbling over what to call her. I’ve suggested Selene or Valkyrie, they are campaigning for Xena or Kitty Pryde. At this point, I kinda want ‘the one who brung her home’ to decide ownership, one way or the other.
If they keep her, they can name her and make vet arrangements, and I’ll return my purchases. If they give her to me, she’s Selene and my sole financial responsibility. I’m good either way.

Selene was my first choice, as well. The other faction seems hung up on it being a Marvel-inspired name, so Valkyrie seemed like a workable compromise.

Got a honking huge AC window unit sitting in the middle of my living room. The Landlady need to store it for the time being as my dads unit needs to be replaced, but can’t do it yet due to the electrician needs to come out to replace the power socket for the wall.
Yesterday was my Dad’s 77th Birthday, We had Bacon, Guacamole, Spinach Leaves, and Avocado on Texas Toast sandwiches. Planning on doing the actually party on Sunday, gonna be making Chicken Parmesan for that.
I need to find out how much it costs to ship a large package to Canada from Texas. It sorta weighs about 10lbs

Silly. I am in Oklahoma not Canada. Much cheaper.
Haha now I am curious what it would cost to ship haha. I remember sendiing back something defective at a UPS store around the holidays and listening to people freak out on the cost. Made me smile. A week before Christmas and you don’t want to pay guaranteed delivery but get angry it will take so long. Good times.

I think I need to get the front tires on my car rebalanced…got a wobble at 60mph. Shouldn’t cost much, gonna add that to the list of what needs to be done next week.
Goal for today…
- Clean off computer workstation to make room to setup my Resin 3d Printer.
- Remove AC window unit, as it’s dead and install a vent fan.
I’ve had the thing since January and itching to get to printing miniatures.
