I feel like I’m missing something with this whole transmog thing. They are upping the cost in Midnight? Why?
Not really upping the cost. They have a new feature that will allow you to store “outfits”, which will keep your transmog active through gear upgrades. No more getting a new piece of gear, then needing to pay the transmog cost again.
The new feature will allow you to store two full transmogs for “free” (I think there is a per slot fee, but it’s a one-time fee), and then additional “outfits” cost to unlock, increasing as you keep buying them.
The goal is to keep the gold sink for transmog, but also make sure that you’re not having to pay to reapply the transmog every time you get a new piece of gear.

This makes me really sad. Been playing since BC, but this may mark the end of my WOW time. As I understand it, you have to do it for every character, and being an RP person, I have quite a few.

I’d caution you that this is in Beta, and things can change. They always are looking for feedback, especially so with Beta testing/features. I wouldn’t lead with “if you do this, I quit”, but leave some honest feedback explaining why you think they should lower the cost. Many things happen in Beta that get changed when it goes live, based on player feedback.
But also know, this is in response to player feedback. Players do not want to have to re-apply the transmog with every gear upgrade, especially early in an expansion cycle.

Didn’t mean to come off that way, and yes, I’ll wait and see how it goes. But unfortunately, if it stays the way it is being described, it will take a lot of the fun out of the game for me. Maybe for most players, this will be an awesome change, we’ll see.

I picked up some new pedals (the Kinesis Savant2) and they feel really nice.
I did find my keyboard modifiers (e.g. shift) were confined to my keyboard, and so I needed to install a third-party keymapping utility.
Not altogether different than before I guess, but at least this software is maintained, unlike what I was using with my prior pedals.
