[CS Lounge] Poking with the poking stick

Don’t forget some Gnomes. If you don’t want to eat them, then you can use them as pillows. Also as toddler and pet toys.

So the main water line leading into our house kind of … broke today. Like, entirely. It just split in twain.

I need a shower something fierce.

Imagine if it was a sewer line. It happened to me. It was 10 years ago and I still get nauseous thinking about it.

Heheh, I kinda roped myself into running a wargame demo at a Expo where I live at. They have me running 2 demos on Saturday and one on Sunday.

Oh thankfully we’ve not had that.

At the rate we’re at over the past year, though, it wouldn’t surprise me. We’ve had:

  • Completely backed up kitchen sink.
  • A slab leak under the computer room that flooded it - thankfully we noticed it before anything was damaged, though the floor and bottom foot or so of the wall and insulation had to be replaced.
  • The master bathroom toilet flooded

(This was all in the space of about two weeks, though the computer room damage took a couple of months to be finally done).

  • Now this.

Luckily, our landlord is incredibly responsive and takes good care of us.

Bet you are insanely jealous of the .5 to 1 inch we are supposed to get on Saturday huh?

City side, or home side? Prays the answer is city side so you don’t have to pay for it

Edit: Just read your landlord is responsive, so luckily it is not a metric ton out of your pocket

Our side, just, but he’s covering it. He takes his responsibilities as landlord very seriously.

Someone must be playing with switches at forum HQ. >.> site is in read only mode JK! Site is in read only mode. Maybe it’s a mobile bug lol!

It usually happens when they are pushing an update, they become read only as it is cycling through.

Ah yes! It must be the update my step uncle told me about, who works at Nintendo of America and Blizzard HQ in the land of make believe. The update I finally get me some green text for no reason at all!:clap::sunglasses:(Jk)

My computer science class went really well! ;D principal sat outside and listened too lol! Wasn’t too intimated since your boy knew what he was going to say!

I threw in some entertaining gifs as well to keep the kids engaged with what I wrote in my lecture!

Who knows maybe someone in my class will end up at blizzard! Haha.

Rinse and repeat Thursday!

Hoo boy. Began putting one New Year’s resolution into play today. I had mentioned to both of my kids that I felt ‘stuck’. When their mom left, she took what would fit in her SUV, and in the years since, has taken another carload. She has completely moved on, but I’m still surrounded by all the things she left behind, things she said she’d be back for. I was hoping one or both of them would talk to her when she came to visit them at Christmas, and they might have. But right away, they both said “Dad, it’s been almost seven years; if she really wanted it, she would’ve gotten it by now. You’re in the clear to do whatever you want with it.”

So today, I started pitching things (mostly just insignificant stuff that’s been cluttering my closets and shelves) and boxing up stuff to take to Goodwill. It’s gonna take a while to deal with all of it, but at least the process is started.

Yay.
It seems like a tough step to take… but I’m glad you’re doing it.

Well, been a pretty busy day. This morning I ran my nephew to work, and then waited at home for the arrival of my 3d printer (which came in at 10am). THEN some how got talked in to hosting a couple of wargaming demos at a local geek expo.

Elsa came back! happy flail

nothing much to do, but relax and take things easy. got 5 hours of sleep last night…again. =_=

managed to go back to sleep though around 5:30ish, though that was after playing WoW a bit, and watching a lil Critical Role. woke up “officially” just a lil before 10.

took a trip down to the grocery store, and picked up a few things here and there. now with the snowfall, i can tell anyone unamused by it to “let it go”. xP

We got a dusting of snow with a little bit of thunder mixed in for effect. They are now saying we will be getting a ton of rain, not snow this weekend. The lakes are already way high. No place for the water to go.

I have a crockpot of chili cooking on low for later. It smells heavenly in here . I think I’m gaining weight just from the smell. Going to make garlic bread to go with.

Brrrrr. I hate frozen nose hairs.

A high of 29 F here today, tomorrow it will be in the 50’s until Saturday where it will be back down into the low 30’s with possibly snow. My aching sinuses… Also, it’s been so very windy at night. Feel the house shake and see my monitor wobble kind of windy at times.
