Day just picked up. Another game was scheduled to be on but fortunately we get to see the Motor City kitties play (not saying win, just sayin).

I can actually hear the Twins game and see the scoreboard from where I live. It was good to see the Tigers but then Iām not a Twins fan.

Iām ready for spooky. It feels Halloweenie around here. Cold and damp. It is supposed to warm up a bit this week. I donāt like scary movies. I feel they use the jump out and frighten you stuff. The books are so much better. The Shining book was terrifying.

It feels like that here today. Itās great to not have the a/c running full time. Then itās high 80ās for most of the next 10 or more days with lots of rain. I was hoping September would be cooler than August and it is looking just as hot so far but even more humid.

wb, and glad to hear everythingās okayā¦and yeah, Halifax got hit pretty hard too. i didnāt see a whole lot of dmg, but there was a power poleā¦that looked like the top half was snapped off, and replaced with a top half from ANOTHER pollā¦but this half was on itās side(?) .-.
most of the dmg was in places along the shoreline (I.E. Peggyās Cove, Purcelās Cove, etc) iāve seen pics on FB and itās badā¦i donāt think itās Juan bad, but itās still pretty rough.
iād post a linkā¦but i donāt want to get into troubleā¦ ._. a crane fell on top of a building in Halifax due to the hurricane yesterday. there was also a water spout (or water cyclone?) that spawned in i thinkā¦Lawrencetown Beach?
trees were literally torn from the ground, mounds of dirt still attached to the base of the trunk and everythingā¦it was enough to force public transportation to be suspended for the duration of the day, and school to be canceled tomorrow.
safety precautions and everything, so i canāt fault them really. .-.

yeah, i gotta admit Phoenix looks like heāll do a good job as Joker. it feels like an honest to goodness tribute to Cesar Romeroās Joker.

In our neighbourhood one tree fell and damaged the back of a neighbourās house during Juan. We and our neighbours removed some old rotting trees in the years since then. There wasnāt as much to get damaged this time. Juan and Dorian had to travel over most of the mainland of Nova Scotia before they got to us, so we didnāt get as much damage.
The line ups at Tim Hortons and Burger King were really long earlier today. Some people were getting a little snarky because they had to wait. My mother scolded someone who was yelling at the workers.

oh, that popped up a memory for me! i was waiting in line at Timmyās with my mother, and a lady that worked there that we knew, had gotten out of the cab, was walking up the steps to the door, and we could hear her mutter āI never shouldāve answered the phone this morning. >.>ā
the line was pretty bad. i also remember listening to the radio that morning, and they talked about a line of cars stretching from Halifax, all the way into Sackvilleā¦the Tim Hortons up on Cobequid Rd was the only location that had power (in the way of a backup generator?) in the entire municipality.
needless to say, within a few hours, they sold out of every last cookie, bagel, muffin, timbit, donut, and every bottle of juice and milk, and every last drop of tea, coffeh, hot chocolate and cappuccino they had.
those were some fond memories.

I canāt wait for Fall, My favorite season here in the south because it usually stays nice for quite a while but in all honesty I can remember it getting cold a lot earlier when I was growing up then it does now.
Climate change is no joke imho.
