[CS Lounge] Mastadôn's Puntastic Pseudo-thread!

Bro that sounds delicious. Headed to loyddminster today for a dog show. Gonna be so much fun.

That sounds fantastic! We are cold, wet, windy, and rainy. In good news I got almost all the deck painted before the rain hit with enough time for the paint to cure. Well, at least I got done the parts that are outside of the tin roof. I have a huge painting blister now.

Today I am making a pot of vension chili because I have some I was given, peppers to use up, onions, garlic, fresh tomatoes, fresh hot peppers I grew. Also 3 kinds of beans, corn and I have fresh cilantro to top and cheddar. So, might as well. Seems perfect for a cold wet day to have a pot of simmering chili on.

Indeed, but I was concerned about one word in the final panel.

Went to ALDI last week and found watermelon fruit spread in their limited time aisle. Omg, it’s delicious! I went back to get more, and of course, it’s gone.

My new ALDI policy is to get at least two, lol.

Been a rough 2 days at work. Almost over.

Then ho.e and relax. Later, me and the special lady friend are goi g to sushi and then off to see Hades Town, rhe touring production.

After 2 horrid days it will hopefully be the cure for my aches.

Got into beta. Been enjoying it. I love all the comments like where the guards in Stormwind ask you things. Especially the one about DKs and having fruit thrown at you.

Dragons definitely got a better reception. Now, if I could just afford a better laptop and take advantage of all the new stuff

Someone plz tell me I didn’t screw up?

Cross rib shoulder roast, beef chuck.

Tossed in a slow cooker, seasoned with salt and pepper, cut up a couple cloves of garlic, some onion, and celery and carrots.
…I dunno what else I have that I can add. :c

I had a gaming laptop for a few years, but I went back to a desktop PC so I can upgrade items a bit easier.

That, and it was cheaper to put a desktop together.

We just had a flyover for (I assume) the Mizzou game. Couple F 16s were cruising around north of me for a little bit, then they roared back overhead. Pretty sweet.

Any pot roast recipe should work for that given your flavor profile. Mushrooms are nice and so is a bit of thyme. If liquid is needed beef stock is the basic, but red wine is also nice.

Beef like that can take a LONG time to slow cook so be prepared for that.

I live in the flight path of jets. Constant roar of harriers and F15s. Not uncommon to just see one cruise above the tree tops blasting noise cause they can VTOL

I’ve only got plain ol’ water, sadly, but that’s in there. I think I have some thyme, though!

Thank you!!

This is what I finally got to replace my 2013 Alienware that was on its very last legs.

This is the one I got and I have been happy with it so far. It is a lot less expensive than an Alienware these days and it has the ability to upgrade some parts.

Should still be good. The beef, onions, garlic, carrots, celery, salt, pepper, and thyme should give you a decent stew type broth once it cooks long enough. I mean long time though. Really long time. Like 8 hours in the crock pot long time depending on the cuts of meat.

That reminds me I really do want to make a pot roast this fall. Yum. Probably going to do one with apple cider as part of the liquid. I have some sale meat in the freezer I can use that benefits from long cooking.

I hope your meal comes out well!

Oh, and if you need to thicken later, you can use either corn starch or flour.

Hehe, no worries, I was prepared for that! But I do appreciate the warning.

Thanks again for the tips. :blue_heart:

any1 got a good recipe for healthy food that i can prep for a few days? currently on vacation for wotlk hype, and i cant stand the potato soup anymore… but i leveled 2 char parallel on two accounts as tank and heal in dungeons with the power of potato, so hurray potatos!

Healthy? You’re playing WOW. Cheeto’s and Mountain Dew.

Here are a couple ideas for some variety:

Fritata

1 pkg Ground Beef
6 eggs
¼ c heavy cream
3 scallions thinly sliced
1 red pepper small dice
2 tsp Southwest seasoning
1 ear corn removed from cob
10 cherry tomatoes cut in half
1 c sharp cheddar cheese
1 tsp kosher salt
¼ tsp ground black pepper

Instructions

Preheat oven to 400°F.
Whisk eggs, heavy cream, salt and pepper in a bowl and set aside.
Preheat 10” heavy skillet (preferably cast-iron). Crumble ground beef and sauté for 5 minutes.
Using a slotted spoon, transfer ground beef to a bowl. Keep the skillet on medium-high heat, and add scallions, red pepper, corn and southwest seasoning. Sauté vegetables in beef fat for 3 minutes. Return ground beef to skillet, and mix together.
Spread out the ground beef mixture evenly, flattening with a spatula. Sprinkle cheese on top.
Pour egg mixture into the skillet, and shake pan to distribute egg. Place halved cherry tomatoes in a circular pattern on top.
Place in oven and bake for 16 minutes. Let frittata rest for 4 minutes before slicing.

You can throw in whatever your heart desires. I make a breakfast fritata with sausage instead of beef, some southern style hash browns, onions, and mushrooms (cook everything before you put the eggs into the pan to bake).

Korean Beef:

1 pound lean ground beef
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 teaspoons sesame oil
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2-2/3 cups hot cooked rice
3 green onions, thinly sliced

Directions

In a large skillet, cook beef and garlic over medium heat 6-8 minutes or until beef is no longer pink, breaking up beef into crumbles. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, mix brown sugar, soy sauce, oil and seasonings.
Stir sauce into beef; heat through. Serve with rice. Sprinkle with green onions
