I can finally put a quilt back on my bed. That little weight makes sleeping so much better. It’s like magic.
Through Wednesday, we were in the high 90s. Yesterday, we hit 70, today 60, and after tomorrow’s 84, the next week will be in the 70s and lows in the 50s.
You have my attention.
As long as you don’t have a gluten sensitivity, use bread flour. It gives the finished product a bit more…substance; a little more crusty, a little more “chewy” (for lack of a better word).
BUT it is beautiful, round, rustic, crusty, chewy!
Simple yeast, flour, kosher salt, warm water. Rise 3 hours. Turn out onto floured parchment paper and form into round shape. Place in bowl for a bit while the oven AND cast iron Dutch Oven preheat. Place parchment paper with dough on it into hot dutch oven and cover. Cook for set time. Uncover, cook more to darken the crust. Remove from oven and pot, cool on a rack for 10+ mins.
Comes out better apparently if you put it in the fridge overnight after the 3 hour rise. I have not had time to do that …I needed bread for fresh sliced tomato and lettuce sandwiches ASAP. hehe
I have a smaller sized cast iron enamel dutch oven that was my grandmothers. Belgium, predates Le Crusset. Called Descoware.
I’m no longer confident I can hit level 70 before the Joyous Journeys buff goes away, or WotLKC goes live, whichever comes first. I am enjoying the attempt, though.
I’m exhausted. I was up late, and didn’t sleep well. Up at 3 am, even before I would normally get up for work. I just could not sleep. A lot on my mind.
Plan on telling my special lady friend tonight that I am starting to fall for her, and that has me all kinds of scared and nervous. I cannot turn my brain off, I swear
