So Tuesday night, GM mentions to another of our drivers the mask policy, in a friendly, non-confrontational way. Driver responds with âAnd if I refuse?â Manager tells him "No big deal, youâll just be sent home until you agree to wear a mask while in the storeâ, and letâs him ruminate on that while he continues washing dishes.
An hour goes by, manager mentions it again, points out the disposable masks we have available for anybody that wants/needs one. This time, the driver actually does refuse, and is asked to clock out. âAm I being terminated?â âNo, youâre just being asked to clock out until youâre willing to comply with company policy.â
Driver is in his car for several minutes, returns and hands the manager a handwritten note citing state statutes and demanding that the company remit any accrued wages, tips, and mileage reimbursement within 24 hours. GM reminds him that he hasnât been fired, and gently explains that the statute only applies to terminated employees, and that if he is exercising his right to voluntarily end his employment, state law requires wages to be paid on the next payday.
Heâs only been with us for a week or so, and while heâs not yet my favorite of the 3 dozen or so general managers weâve had since I was hired, heâs easily in the Top Five already.
Maintaining his cool in that situation would win points with me. As calm and cool as I try to be, Iâd probably be set off by someone behaving like that. And while Iâm trying to work on that, since I no longer manage people, I donât need to worry too much. And I like the policy - youâre not fired, but you canât work until you choose to follow policy. And if itâs like any other place Iâve worked, if he doesnât return to work within two weeks, itâs viewed as a voluntary separation.
It was 77 and humid at 4:00am today when I took my morning walk. Kind of like a walking bath - just ⌠yuck. We have a bit of a cooling trend coming next week - down to the mid 80s for highs. The hot days are unpleasant, but to me, itâs the warm nights that are the bigger problem. I like being able to open the windows and cool the apartment off a bit.
NZ is in lock down level 4. Meaning everyoneâs at home with all essential travel allowed
Iâve had my first shot of pzifier. Shoulder was a bit sore all day but coming right now
I may have to set up a home office at my new apartment.
Also Iâm not sure if you guys are aware yet but the ticket queue bugged out and flagged certain older tickets as âopenâ. Since the ticket estimate works off averaging the time all tickets have been in the queue thatâll throw the estimate out a bit.
One guy on reddit was showing an estimated ticket time of over 140 days! Itâs not quite that long - the average is 1-2 days at the moment.
Hel the daughter of Loki and Angrboda, sister of the wolf Fenrir and the serpent JĂśrmungandr?
Half-sister of Narfi and VĂĄli sons of Loki and is wife Sigyn, and Sleipnir Odenâs steed the child of Loki and the stallion SvaĂ°ilfari?
An interesting family.
I havenât seen any of the movies, but I assume Marvel will have changed her story somewhat.
Hel was banished from Asgard because the Ăsir found her physical appearance disturbing (half of her face had no skin, was a skull) so Oden gave her Niflheim (the icy cold Norse underworld) to rule as queen of the dead.
Got my new WoW cookbook in a few days early. Very interesting recipes in this version. There is a punch (Lavacolada) I will make tonight that looks good. Also looking at something for main course.
So, as I understand the recipe for the famous Hawaiian cocktail with a similar name, basically your favorite piĂąa colada recipe filling chilled glasses halfway, then your favorite strawberry daiquiri poured on top of the first half.
Without going into specifics about this punch (plagiarism is a bad thing, the authors deserve respect and posting part of a copyrighted work isnât cool) is this something based on that concept?
If so, it could be a good thing in the current (hot as hell, I donât have AC in this old inner-city house) if inviting friends and family over for gatherings ever returns. Perhaps a punchbowl version would be worth the price of the book.
I expect there to be other influences, and I expect production cost to be a low influence, but the difference between 40 and 45 for example might be tied to it in part.
Though it sounds like the price ranges are basically piggy backing off of decade old ones that were set up in the more traditional pricing method (including stronger production cost influence).
Itâs just ignoring production costs completely flies in the face of what I learned about pricing in college and in general. It would make the video game industry an exception, and the question then becomes âwhy is it an exception?â. So therefore research is in order.
But with friends and pillow fort. Well thats interesting world of warship got into a bit of hotwater over 1 bonus code and issued another one as a apology.
