[CS Lounge] I will roll, roll through the gates of Torghast

Woot! Made it to 65, back to Raven Hill and tamed with 6 minutes to spare!

You did better than I did. I tried taming him at 24 once.

For a short while you could tame exotic beasts at level 10, but then it was changed to where it is now.

So help me out here…

Northrend was never discoverd perhaps because all the intercontinental passage ship lanes passed to the south? I could accept that.

Pandaland was never discovered by Horde or Alliance because it had been shrouded in magical mists the whole time. Ok. I’ll buy that, too.

But how is it that nobody ever noticed the Broken Isles? And now Zandalar and Kul-Tiras appear and nobody knew they were there either? These are all some pretty darn big island-continents out there. I mean with a good running start, a Warrior might be able to triple Heroic Leap his way from Kalimdor to the Eastern Kingdoms without gettin’ his feet wet.

There’s gotta have been some explanation, right? Maybe some of y’all who are really into the lore could enlighten me?

I wish I could explain. But that always bothered me, that the boat/zep paths changed to go around all the new islands.

“Magic” has to be the answer.

It makes me wonder about all those boat trips from booty bay to ratchet. No storm ever threw you off course.

I know it would be a huge inconvenience, but Imagine being stranded on one of those islands until another ship came along. Mages could teleport off in theory.

It is interesting to note.

Be cool if like in FF, you had random pirates attack or sea monsters too enroute.

In addition, open up more of the ocean like Zelda Wind Waker. Treasure hunting with cranes. See random ruins half submerged with treasure.

I’m pretty sure that, in-lore, everyone knew that they were there. The game just hadn’t taken us there. In WC3, didn’t Arthas know what and where Northrend was when Mal’Ganis mentioned it?

The Kul’Tiran cut themselves off from the Alliance. People knew they were there. The tide sages possibly kept ships away. The Zandalari Trolls were all through STV before Cata. Their Loa probably kept outsiders away. Remember the fog when sailing to Zandalar.

Stop with your silly logic! You’re making sense, and that’s not allowed.

The map overall has never really made sense - it’s flat and there’s no point at which we see a very faint curve of the horizon. (Either there’s a lot more ocean/land we never see on either side, or it’s a seriously small diameter for a round planet and we’d notice a curve. I’m sure someone must have done the math based on pacing out the size of zones with range measurements.)

Yeah, somebody a long time ago worked out the size of Azeroth based on average walking speed and it was somewhere in the neighborhood of several miles in circumference. I mean, you can literally walk the length of the eastern continent, from Silvermoon to Booty Bay, in about a half hour.

If it was scaled up to be a more ‘realistic’ size, 90% of your time in-game would be traveling between objectives.

Yeah, and there’s no way there’s enough farms to feed everyone. I prefer to think that, say, Elwynn Forest is really a lot bigger than it is and we’re sort of getting it scaled down; my sense of immersion can take that.

It’s kinda like that “movie magic”, where they say something like (just a hypothetical example) The Final Order’s ships will be operational in 16 hours, yet you see the heroes flying from planet to planet to Death Star graveyard over what has to be the course of days, maybe even weeks.

(Any resemblance to actual movies, events, or space wars is purely coincidental…)

To be fair, hyperdrive in that setting is explicitly said to be that fast.

What Azeroth needs is a Daggerfall like expansion. We could have a mount autobahn with super speed. Caravans. Diablo 2 WPs/ESO wayshrines you discover.

I know…it make every zone feel like If Tanaris and Desolace were combined, but I like the idea of distant places. And players would never see each other…but it would just feel epic. Mount Hyjal Nordrassil wouldn’t be a spruce pine, but instead feel like the biggest redwood ever.

Black Rock wouldn’t look like a molten sand dune.

Classic has that feel because we walk and at best 100% but still on the ground. In retail, I can be anywhere in a few minutes.

A DDOS
Well that explains why the internet went to junk up here. 4GLTE is effected, my home connection and work connection is effected. Can’t get an email out at work.

yeah, i was noticing some issues earlier tonight with lag both in-game and general input for commands and movement and such.

i managed to get the buffs on the characters i needed it on most, so it worked out in the end for me. .-.

gonna get some shuteye here. hoping i sleep soundly through the night for once. =_=

Gota love these forums been a interesting day thats for sure here i see the ban for 24hrs has gone from a ban discussion to bot not derailing but deffinately strayed lol.
