[CS Lounge] I will roll, roll through the gates of Torghast

woot, internet is back up!

Feel good to have my head sorted out and able to focus on stuff again. Been a helluva month and looking at starting fresh in June.

Hurrah for the return of 24-hour grocery stores! The zombie-free Zombie Apocalypse doesn’t align with my personal circadian rhythm.

Picked up a 4-lb. roast, 3 lbs. of baby-cut carrots, 3 lbs. of red potatoes and a head of garlic. That and a couple packets each of ranch dressing, Italian dressing and brown gravy mixes is all going into the slow cooker in about three hours. By the time the roommates get home from work, the smell should be just about irresistible. :yum:

Ex-wife’s recipe originally called for about half the vegs and packets, and no garlic. #1 Daughter and I found ourselves fighting over the carrots, and there were never quite enough potatoes in the leftovers, so I’ve tweaked it. I did eventually have to get a bigger slow cooker to accommodate the increased proportions. :man_cook: :+1:

gonna venture out later to run some errands. gotta plan this out somehow. get stuff at one store, anything else i can’t get at said store, get at another…but i shouldn’t get TOO much stuff as it’ll be an absolute pain to lug back home. ._.

got my Rogue to lvl 10 and a guildie helped me with the lvl 10 quest. gonna try to keep Skinning and Herbalism going for a while. maybe sell off what i gather for some extra coin, or send it to alts for crafting purposes.

Looks like the Charlotte NC Metro area is in for some nasty weather today, Tropical Storm Berta formed right off the coast of S.C. last night and the forecast has it coming right through the middle of Charlotte. Glad my wife got the grocery shopping done last night, Now to make sure the generator is running ok and get a few cans of gas for it.

Hurricane season starts on June 1st and already we have had 2 named storms hit the east coast, Arthur & Bertha, Looks like it may be a bad year and to have the Covid-19 out there too, Man I wish I had a cellar in this place.

Well got call from health department today. My test was negative. Yay me.

Took steps to change my career path yesterday. We shall see what comes of it. In order to get my nursing degree I need to be an aide for at least 6 months. Due to the pandemic facilities can do their own nursing classes. So I can get the train g for free. Then take boards when everything opens again. So hoping I can get into works next class. Not sure when that will be though. One just started yesterday. But here is to hoping.

Go me! I finally got all classes to level 120. Now to get every race to 120. I’m so glad for the XP boost. I still don’t have Mechagnomes unlocked, but I don’t think I’m in a big hurry for that - I have so much other stuff to do.

I should probably be watching one of the two movies I picked up at the Redbox last night. But here I sit, trying to get my vulpera to level 100 before I log off.

Late fees, schmate fees.

haven’t seen one of those in ages. i only really used it once, but i can kinda understand why they’re fairly scarce here and there.

everything’s all digital now. most movies you can either get via some streaming service, or watch online in some way, shape or form.

kinda sucks, as i was always fond of renting video games back in the day, but this is the way of the future i suppose. .-.

I always loved going to the video store and picking out a movie on Friday night. Seems way “better” than streaming. But nowhere near as convenient - movies are always available (it was always a bummer when the one you wanted to see was already out), and no driving to the store to get them.

Gamefly is still a thing.

Are you serious? Lol

yeah, there’s some positives about access movies online. with me, i’m usually a “one and done” but there’s been a few exceptions to the rule here and there.

I can stream from Amazon Prime or Xfinity for $6 a flick, or I can get it from Redbox for two or three bucks, depending on the format. I pass six boxes driving to and from work, and there are four more within 3 miles of the house. Knock on wood, I have yet to pick a movie that isn’t in at least one of them on DVD, Bluray, or 4K.

Edit - And with the app, you can find a box with your movie and reserve it, so you know it’ll be waiting when you get there.

Pedantry for the sake of pedantry is tiresome and boring.

That is all.

I always get the feeling that ultra-pedants just don’t have anything else going for them in their lives.

I doubt there’s real basis in reality, but I just can’t imagine enjoying that level of nitpickery.

I think many times, there’s a degree of insecurity involved; a need to be right or not ‘shown up’. A lot of times, though, it’s just trolling.

So, yeah… the roast smells amazing. I’ve been picking at the carrots already. Roommates should be home in about an hour. My stomach is rumbling.
