There is one scam up here in Canada and I don’t see how people are falling for it either. So up here, Canada Post which is our Postal Service up here is on full blown strike. Been on strike for a few weeks now.
Apparently people including myself have received texts on our cell phones saying that Canada Post is holding a package for delivery and needs you to click a link to submit the funds required. Here is the thing though, With the strike - There is nothing moving in the mail system. So pretty obvious it’s a scam.
Dunno how people fall for it. Not to mention, The URL they tell you to click on doesn’t end with the domain “.gc.ca” which all Canadian government run organizations use.
Nearing the end of the week. Mostly good things! It’s looking like I’m going back to work part time at around the 6th which I’m real stoked for. Got my flu shot which was quick and hassle free, and my PsyD appointment…didn’t…happen.
They never sent me anything. No text to the call service they use for virtual visits, no email, no calls, nothing. I’m kinda tired reaching out to them more than the other way around so I decided to just collect my thoughts and figure out what happened tomorrow.
It’s weird because I got a call the day before verifying the appointment and making sure all info is correct. That’s disappointing but I’ll have to make do: It’s almost the holidays and it will be real hard to set up another appointment in a timely manner.
So, yeah, mostly positive, just need to focus on that and keep building up for working again.
These scams specifically fish for the gullible or just not thinking about it. If these scammers actually get a hold of someone they will try to rush through their chosen method of ‘payment’, often stating time is of the essence.
My grandfather was particularly vulnerable to these. He was contacted by ‘Microsoft support’ scammers and catfished multiple times, despite any advice I and others tried to impart upon him. Every time we visited he had something new wrong with his laptop and on his laptop, an endless pet peeve of mine, were written copies off all of his passwords.
I ultimately said the solution is him not having a computer, which unfortunately didn’t happen.
So glad to hear you can get some part time hours in! Congrats! Looks like it worked out very well for you. Guess your former boss did not hate you after all
Flu shot go go go! Just happy you are healthy enough to get one! My bruise from mine just went away. Worth it.
The PsyD thing - grrrr. They confirmed it yesterday so there is no reason it should not have happened! DO follow up tomorrow. My PsyD office called today and cancelled my appointment for next week. Doc will be out of town unexpectedly for family things. Rescheduled for Jan and my meds are covered. Your first appointment with a new doc is going to be a long one - usually a full hour and they ask a lot of questions and background VERY important you stay on top of that and make sure you get it sorted. The online appointments can be difficult to navigate the first time if you are not used to it. Maybe it was a mix up on where to be logged in or meeting format?
Guess not! I was nervous because the person reaching out I never really interacted with before: They’re my boss’ boss and I had nowhere near as close of a relationship as my boss…boss.
This is sounding more confusing in my head the more I try.
It’s hard telling really. It wasn’t my first meeting though, I seen them before a few times. This would’ve been the first time I’d reach out since things are starting to swing upward, both in regards to my health and things happening.
Yeah, I really don’t think I am going to watch it. Not unless I get really bored. I figure if there are any Blizzard game updates they will tell us on the Blizz website at some point. I think D4 is up for some awards - like Accessibility - which they have worked really hard on so that even old people like me with vision and dexterity going can play. Seriously though they have a lot of accessibility features that are super helpful.
I read a rumor that Nintendo has stuff to show. But i’m not watching. I’d rather sleep or watch to see when Critical Role starts and guess when Laura left the award show.
Sandfall Interactive, developer behind my most-hyped title for 2025, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, has posted on Twitter that they will not be showing anything. One nail already in the coffin.
Ok, I did turn it on. We shall see how long that lasts. I only want to see the Blizz Accessability team win stuff
Other game teams I know people in can win stuff too. Also cool. Now I have to check and see if former MVP Lissanna’s company is up for any Accessibility awards. Edit - nope, not this year.
Followed her? I am so confused. I think I don’t get the reference at all. She she is a good friend of mine so I am guessing this is forum related. Like, Perl and Kyzera becoming MVPs? Wasn’t Liss a NE druid?
