I got about 3-4 hours. Woke up 2 hours ago and can’t get back to sleep.
I have to go redo my knee CT at the hospital in a little while. I moved during the one yesterday so it has to be redone.
Can’t imagine what would have made me move in that freezing cold room with a metal rod strapped to my bare leg. Ponder upon this, I will.
Though I do understand the need for the CT to be perfect since they will be using robotics for my knee replacement and the software uses the CT for data points.
Just hoping I can manage to not be shivering today.
Two snow days in a row here. We got completely dumped on yesterday. Especially late afternoon into the evening.
Just saw a snow-plow for the first time since the snow started falling. Won’t lie, I’m enjoying the extra time off from work! I have an appointment on Monday so it’s like a 5-day weekend!!!
We’re at that perfect temperature where one can leave their beer in the garage without worrying too much about it freezing (and exploding). I’ve got mine (and my pop) out there with a case of bottled water. If I notice the water starting to get crunchy, the beer and pop come inside for the night.
Wish I could get atleast 3-4 hours of sleep. I’d be lucky at the moment if I can get 2 hours.
Problem in my area has gotten worse since they made changes around, one of the biggest problems is people using the street as a race track in the early hours of the morning, and then having to hear the police sirens go off when the police come around.
Another problem is neighbours upstairs and next door. The ones upstairs would have music blaring while the one next door just hates me and would do anything to make my life miserable inside my own place.
Only chance for peace is usually late mornings and lunch time periods.
Well since we’re complaining about things that annoy us, it really bugs me when someone parks in the space I always park in at the construction site. All the workers know that’s “my” spot, but sometimes a new worker comes and parks there so I have to park in the next space over.
I saved some cat hair. It wouldn’t be nice to spin, and two cats don’t generate enough hair to spin much even if I saved it regularly, so I just felted a bit of it. It wasn’t very pretty, either - just like hairballs, no matter what color the cat is, they are a dull gray. So rather than trying to make something for humans, I felted it around one of those cat toys made up of a plastic mesh ball with a bell inside. And I had the same experience - stiff prickly outer hairs that don’t felt well and probably don’t spin well either. The soft inner hairs will felt easily - after all, that’s what happens when a cat gets matted.
So if I wanted to spin a bunch of pet hair, I would have to find a way to remove the guard hairs, or else I wouldn’t want to spend the time.
The cats, of course, were totally unimpressed with their new felty toy.
Apparently last night was not a night for sleeping. I kept my fingers to myself on the forums…despite there being a thread on GD that I really wanted to say something in. No. No. No. When I can’t sleep I really should not read the forums!
Cats let me sleep until I felt like getting up though. They are good like that. So, they are now fed. I now have coffee. Still windy and cold here so bundling up inside is the best option.
/Sets out hot fresh coffee vats, cocoa, hot water, assorted teas, sturdy mugs, bacon, eggs, pancakes, blueberry muffins, and fruit.
I was going to say, never go shopping on an empty stomach. We went to Sam’s and ended up with some steaks and salmon for a bbq tomorrow. Also, a laptop that was on sale, some headphones that were on sale, and a pair of earrings for me that were on sale. Empty stomach had nothing to do with those purchases.
Ok, now I want those tasty goodies! Too cold to BBQ here, and it is just me so yeah.
I DO need to sort out something to batch cook and am leaning towards a slow roasted pork roast maybe? With a spicy rub? Maybe? IDK. Depends on what is in the freezer.
OMG - you are like my dad. I had friends come down and visit from Canada. He decided to grill venison in a snowstorm for guests! Because that is what my dad does.
I have a pair of fluffy grey cats without guard hairs I can give you! Seriously, they have super fine hair that is so thin texture wise it sticks to everything and felts itself into all fabrics. It is kind of annoying actually.
