If it’s a surgical mask, it isn’t. Regular surgical masks are only about 20% effective solo, 37% effective if both people are wearing one. Even the special dental surgical masks designed to keep out minute dental smoke from drilling teeth don’t really cut it.

Regarding P100 respirators: These are great for when you need them, but an N95 will be almost as effective for far less money in most circumstances. P100s are for when you have a cold or are already sick and you can’t risk getting sicker and/or if you have an immunocompromised family member (including yourself) and can’t risk getting others sick either. P100s are not cheap. The good P100 respirator I got along with the necessary filters (pink = P100 for 3M) weren’t cheap, as noted by the prices which haven’t changed in two years.

Was doing brawl on my Pally and it was going well. Got surrounded and just wanted to bubble for a sec to mitigate some damage. Instead of hitting the key for just Divine Shield on its own, my brain decided to hit the key that had it combined with my garrison hearth.
So now waiting out a deserter CD.

Finally earned one of the most time consuming PvP achievements tonight. Earned myself the achievement, A Good Start. You get this achievement by mining 250 mining nodes total in the Seething Shore Battleground!
All, I’m missing now for the Master of Seething Shore meta achievement now is (70) wins!

No, but I’ve been approached and yelled at for being the only one masking. Many people in this country just don’t give a damn and will attack anything they don’t believe in, verbally or physically. Thankfully I only had to use my cane to attack (very, very hard jabbing poke) once to get one of those buggers away from me. Moron didn’t realize that the handle end of a cane offers enough of a grip that you can effectively turn it into a pool cue and do some serious damage to them. I gave it to him in the belly so I wouldn’t do any real harm, but if they had come at me a second time I was perfectly willing to trade white meat for dark meat as my target.
I don’t let the verbal stuff bother me, but if they get physical, they do not pass Go and go straight to Find Out instead. And since my right arm is deformed, using it to hold the handle end of the cane means that they aren’t going to know where I’m aiming at since my arm isn’t shaped like theirs.

@Tia, thank you for the information! It’s a cloth mask provided by my workplace and I really liked the look of it, but I think it’s really doing much, especially since, as you mentioned, no one else uses them.
I had a N95 in the past and just don’t know what happened to it. I don’t think I needed it then but now, when my immune system is being intentionally suppressed, really think I can use it.
I’m in a relatively red area as well. So far it’s just been looks and I’m hoping that’s as far as it goes.
@Estalayia, I fully agree, but, well, like I said, red area that’s also a college town with a liquor store every 50 yards. I’ve seen some unfortunate exchanges, especially outside of the city itself.
Anyway, good morning. Feeling proper rotten, didn’t get much sleep so staying home today. Gonna rest up, get me plenty of fluids and try to get over this best I can.

The very worst day to go shopping is when there is a severe weather alert. That’s why it was a zoo yesterday and why I went anyway - definitely don’t want to go out in the snow, and hoping not go out in the extreme cold. Although apparently I’m doing that anyway because I’m getting my car worked on later, but at least for the next 48 hours I don’t have to go out except maybe laundry and trash.
I live in a red state but lately haven’t seen anyone being weird about people voluntarily wearing masks. A lot of respiratory stuff has been going around, and when people come back to work, a lot of them are masking for a few days. I tried to wear one the other day when my coworker had pneumonia or something but the one I had was so uncomfortable I gave up and crossed my fingers that my immune system could deal. It was a cheap intended-to-be-disposable one from peak pandemic days that I’ve washed and reused a few times, but the nose band on it isn’t properly formable so it’s impossible to get even the level of seal you can usually get from a surgical mask. So it fogs up my glasses and probably isn’t doing a whole lot. I have better masks at home but forgot to bring one. So much stuff going around I’m thinking about going back to wearing one daily.

Morning folks. Gorgeous morning out there, except for the cold and wind. Last day of my four day weekend.
It does make it easier to catch them up. I need to bank a bit of flame iron for the handful of characters I have that need to get to level cap.
Because I have a little free time this morning (I took the day off), I did a little nosing around. The first couple sites I looked at seem to imply (based on their names) they’re non-profits, but they aren’t. Still, it would be better than Amazon.

Good Tuesday morning all. I actually thought it was already Wed until I went to take my meds and my pill organizer reminded me. This sort of thing makes me feel very old!
I have already put a first layer of the top coat paint on the closet! I can’t quite say how much I enjoy using the small half roller. It makes me want to paint all the things! It was a gift and now I wish I had been using it long ago.
Today is a Palia Patch day which gives me new furniture to play with! A spa set. Also new flowers which is a major thing for me. I am going to have to add a spa room to the Lounge house I think! Maybe a spa building near it? Gazebo? I will have to think about it. OHH Conservatory with the glass walls maybe.
Super cold here, but no snow forecast. Need to think of something to cook so I have leftovers for the week but my brain is not inspired. Whatever it is, I am not going out shopping so there is that.
/Scrubs down the Lounge House, fluffs the cushions and pillows, adds wood to the fire. Puts a large crock pot of soup in the kitchen along with some crusty bread for all to grab as they want. Cleans the grinder refills the roasted bean canisters by the make-your-own coffee bar. Sets out fresh hot coffee vats, hot water kettle, cocoa, toppings, creamers, etc. Stacks up clean mugs nearby. Places a platter of blueberry muffins and pastries out.
That should keep folks from starving!
I made it to T3 so far in Diablo 4 this Season. I need the raven pet. No idea if I can actually DO the T4 stuff though. We shall have to see.

I haven’t been able to play D4 this season yet. Still waiting on my computer to be fixed, and still haven’t found the source of the problem.
Meanwhile, I’ve managed to get first discovery in now in over 110 systems in Elite Dangerous, and only out of all 110 systems, only found 1 Earth-Like planet. Wish though Frontier would allow us to land on these planets.

Oh I forgot about that! That will help with the extra paragon support nodes that are not critical, but are helpful. I need to level my glyphs too. I did the first round to 15 but not the rest.

Blood Wave Necro. I rerolled a week or so ago because my Spiritborn wasn’t cutting it. Now I can 1 shot Duriel in T4. Anduriel takes 2 hits.
