[CS Lounge] Caffeine, Snacks, and a Warm Fire

I read in the t3 lounge that it’s Kyzera’s birthday. If it’s true, Happy Birthday.

If it’s not…runs away.

It is true. I have managed to survive 54 years as of today.

Now off to spend some time with my bestie Murloc in game.

Hey gang. Doing an overtime shift tonight. 2 of 5 baggers are down right now so I’m just kinda hanging out. Easy money I guess. Maaaaaybe they’ll send me home early

And Happy Birthday Kyzera, :woman_mage:

Well, so far I’ve had a (free) frappacino from Starbucks but no fine tea. Did the churro recipe from Starbucks secret menu website.

Gonna make a few cocktails for after dinner though.

Hubby is cooking steak, boiled shrimp, and asparagus for dinner.

Dessert will be a (free) chocolate hazelnut crunch cake from Publix.

Gotta love birthday freebies. :birthday:

I’m doing no sugar (on day 5  ) until June, so I’ll just live vicariously through your crunch cake

Does that include natural sugars like fruit? If so that would be hard. Otherwise, not so bad. They are sneaky about it though in things you don’t expect to have sweetner like salad dressing, BBQ, condiments, bread, etc.

Good luck with that! You can do it!

Yeah, I’m eating some fruit, mostly berries but I do have a banana every day. And you are correct, sugar is in so many things I have to be careful.

I did this last year for about three months and dropped 15lbs so I’m trying again….still haven’t dropped all the holiday pounds lol.

I’m determined! Getting past the first few weeks is the hardest then it just becomes second nature.

Agreed! I don’t really eat much sugar and that is not even really on purpose. I just prefer savory snacks, don’t cook with it much, and make most of my food at home from scratch so I know what is in it. I only really use it if I bake cookies or something, but that would be for guests or gifts.

Odd thing to think about, but I was looking at relish the other day and not only was there sugar in there, there was high fructose corn syrup! If I am going to do sweet, it will be the real thing in moderation.
