What were they thinking. Stores closed so no cashiers. Were they going to steal? Self checkouts are shut down when the stores closed.
I was reading that we may get an extension due to tax preparers not being put at risk from catching the virus; You can read the entire article for yourself here:

Got the car back today. Turns out it was not what they said was wrong with it, it was just in the immediate vicinity of the thermostat housing, so that is what the mechanic originally thought was the major culprit. It was a heater hose, my coolant reservoir (I am guessing when the scalding hot liquid hit the plastic, it ruined it), and a few other things related. BUT, even with the oil change I told them to do while they had the vehicle, it was $50 less than the original quote I had received originally over the phone. I will take it.
i heard that they extended the deadline for us Canucks to Jun or something.
still hoping if i’m suppose to get that T4, i’ll get it soon. was kinda counting on having my taxes filed and the refund deposted by now, but circumstances beyond my control have put a wrench in that plan. ah well.
If anyone is interested in seeing how this virus originated watch the video in the link below. Also I know first hand this is the way these food markets are in China because I’ve seen them.
Some markets have now separated the animals however the Chinese government need to crack down on these markets and farmers also illegal poaching of wildlife for sale to humans for consumption to avoid the spread of these viruses and diseases.
"NOTE: PARTS OF THIS VIDEO HAVE GRAPHIC SCENES OF ANIMALS BEING SLAUGHTERED."

Is the T4 the equivalent to the USA W-2 showing the income and deductions from the previous year? If so the USA requires employers have this in the hands of employees by January 31st. Does Canada not have a similar law?
All T4s should be out by now. They are required by law to provide them by the end of Feb at the latest! Thankfully, the Canadian government is also extending the tax deadline to June 1st. and if you owe, you don’t have to pay until the first of August I believe.
If you haven’t received your T4, definitely reach out to your employer to ask about it.
well it’s a T4A from Service Canada. he’s been on workmans comp for years, as well as Canada Pension.
he was receiving OAS as well, but i haven’t heard anything from them either. though considering i didn’t change his mailing address, it’s likely it went up to his old address.
I really should sit down and do our taxes too. I’m pretty sure we’ll get a refund, so there’s really no reason for us to delay!
Same. I don’t know why I have been procrastinating. It’s just not a fun activity, I guess.
i can understand why most aren’t fond of it. i mean it is a pretty…“taxing” process. :3
I’d hop on it pronto. Federal is taking obscenely long this year. Application was accepted on the 19th of February, one month later and State has only been deposited, last time I checked Fed was still processing.
Just because

Good stuff!
Our county just announced that it’s stopping public gatherings of ten or more people. Unless it’s a necessity like groceries. Which may make my work close down.
My county now has it’s first known case. I’m glad my two upcoming appointments are by phone. Worried more about my dad, though. He’s almost 75. At least the store is closed so there won’t be any rude customers getting up in his face.
Same here, It’s not a fun activity at all and not at all interesting after you have been doing it for 45 years.
Good friend of mine texted me earlier today that manages the staff in the kitchen in the local Hilton here, They shut the dining room down first and only offered room service and now they cut out room service and laid him off. Depressing days……. I’ve already had cabin fever for some time now and now that it’s getting warm here in N.C. it just adds to the depression knowing that it may be months before the virus is under control.
Carrot jalepano soup for supper sooo good.
Now that sounds like something I need to open up my sinuses.
I generally enjoy it actually, especially when I get to do the math myself. I normally use H&R Block’s free filing, but I couldn’t last year since I technically had some income from investments, so I used Free Fillable Forms instead.
That said, it was less enjoyable this year when I realized that we underpaid our taxes since I accidentally claimed someone as a dependent that I couldn’t and I owed for the first time ever.
Also, in fairness, I don’t have to deal with State filing here in Texas. State filing, when I lived in Mass, was a pain.
