[CS Lounge] A New Year! 20-Years of WoW!

I remember Barolas, but not Laeli. Or you (looks at you suspiciously ), but I wasnā€™t all that regular here, and I didnā€™t start hanging around here until a bit later.

As far as suggestions, they go into the most likely forum, with General being the catch-all for stuff that doesnā€™t really fit anywhere else.

It looks like weā€™re going to get at least a little winter this month - thereā€™s a chance of snow every day for the next week, with Tuesday and Wednesday being very ā€œwintry.ā€ Since I donā€™t have to drive all that much, I say ā€œBring it on!ā€

We got snow last nite and more on the way.

 I posted on a human paladin named ā€œVindicatedā€ from the anvilmar server. I moved off the server some time ago, but I tried to see if I could use that character to post! Alas. My adventures in necromancy would have to do.

Barolas is still around, but does not post under that name. He works at Blizzard now on the WoW team after first working on the Forum Support Agent team.

I donā€™t remember Laeli, but I was not consistant about being around back then.

They found that instead of being helpful, it was a mixed basket of complaints, suggestions, and bugs. It also resulted in people sort of posting then leaving and not discussing the ideas. So, they now ask us to use the in-game suggestion tool, or to use the forum most closely related. So quest suggestions would go on a forum related to quests. That gets the suggestions into the right subject buckets and in a place they are more likely to be interacted with by other players. Failing all that someone would venture into General Discussion.

Wow, congrats to both of you! Itā€™s hard to be with a job that long now-a-days.

Hello, Underdose/Vindicated! Glad to see you around still.

I remember the name ā€œLaeliā€, but there have been so many that have come and gone and returned then left, nothing specific is coming to my mind. Some of the old regulars donā€™t play much anymore, often due to life, family, etcā€¦ but I know some lurk from time to time.

If you see any of them, please let them know they are very fondly remembered. I wish they could see me today. Iā€™ve made a lot of changes in my life and I think they would all appreciate the person Iā€™ve spent the last 15 years trying to become. Once again, sending yā€™all a lot of love today.

Hi friends! Itā€™s been a minute since Iā€™ve dropped in ^^

Barolas is doing great :dracthyr_yay_animated: Iā€™ve been deep in development supporting my teams so I donā€™t get to swing by often, but Vrakthris keeps me apprised of goings-on during our hangouts :blue_heart: Itā€™s really good to see everyone! Since it sounds like folks are celebrating anniversaries (Congrats Vrak and Harlsoco!!) Iā€™m happy to share that Iā€™m 10 years in at Blizzard and recently celebrated 2 years on the WoW team!

So glad to see everyoneā€™s doing well - I hope youā€™re all off to a wonderful 2024. :dracthyr_blob_dance_animated: :dracthyr_love_animated:

(Personal note, hope youā€™re all enjoying Dragonflight! Itā€™s my first shipped expansion with the WoW team, and itā€™s been so wonderful seeing how much folks fun are having!!!)

Lord, the old Suggestion Forum. May you live on forever in our hearts.

Thatā€™s fantastic! I can relate because I know how much my life has changed since launch. Completely different life, but WoW is the one constant. Congrats on the positive changes!

Iā€™m not sure how much you do with the story, but Iā€™ve really enjoyed the theme of dragons returning to their land and repairing their past, especially the Black Dragonflight and Ebonhorn/Emberthal. Itā€™s a powerful story you guys have told this expansion.

Iā€™m not sure what you mean?

Absolutely! This one is right up there with MoP for me. Itā€™s really immersive. The stories and characters have been fun, the zones are gorgeous with all their little details and of course the music and ambient sounds are amazing. Thank you and your team for all the love youā€™ve put into DF, it truly shows. :dracthyr_heart:

How goes the great white north? Iā€™m pretty sure you have had a ton more snow than us near the bottom of the mitten. Snow is in the forecast finally.

Go Lions :football:

We had a green Christmas here which is very unusual and I live in British Columbia. Most of Canada actually had no snow on the ground at Christmas. Also, No snow in the forecast at all here. So many people are worried about the forest fire season when it comes later this year!

Heard on the news that in Alberta, There is still 62 forest fires burning out of control right now. In, BC we still got lots burning up north close to the Yukon and NWT borders.

Howdy! Weā€™ve only had 15 inches so far this year. And that was in 6-7 snow events. Most of it light fluffy lake effect snow. Easy to shovel. Weā€™ve been threatened with snow for weeks, and somehow, we seem to miss it. Itā€™s either to the east of Marquette or west of Ishpeming. Weā€™ve had many record highs broken this season. :thermometer: We bought that new snowblower and have yet to use it :anguished: (itā€™s not worth starting it up for light snow) Though the side-by-side is nice.

Itā€™s very peaceful up here. Iā€™ve been feeding the birds who havenā€™t migrated. A couple of different species. We call it cat TV. Weā€™ve had cloudy skies for quite a while.

Fortunately, this isnā€™t a period for the northern lights. The sunspots facing us already let out a big burst a few days ago and missed us (trust me, this was a very good thing). :confetti_ball:

Otherwise, just lurking and rooting for the kitties :lion: :football:. Heh, Iā€™ve had people stop by and complement us on our Lions flags (2) hanging on the porch.

Itā€™s nice here.

Work complete! (at least for this week)

Easiest way to ensure an unseasonable winter.

Thatā€™s surprising - youā€™re pretty close to Packer :face_vomiting: country up there.

We decided to go the hard route. We got a new steel roof over the summer. We switched from gas to propane for heat. We got a generator tied directly to the propane line. And you know about the ride and blower. We spent the money. And we will assume all credit for not having any snow  thank you very much  After all, last year we only bought a small battery powered snowblower and got 280 inches last year. We thought we learned our lesson

Itā€™s pretty split up here. Iā€™d say more Lions fans than cheeseheads. Iā€™ve been wearing a blue santa-type cap with the emblem and logo on the front. Many people up here like it (they also call me santaā€¦ Iā€™ll let you figure that one out, hint itā€™s not the belly)

PS. And as Iā€™m working on dinner, four deer came strolling through the yard. Did I mention itā€™s nice up here?
