this same exact thing happened to me.
I had a character on opening night on this realm after waiting 2 hours in queue.
The next day I deleted the toon to change my class because my friend and I both roled as druid and since I only played for like 10 minutes on opening night because of queue… but i’m locked out indefinitely now and can’t play with my friends. Its just sad and upsetting.

As some people have already mentioned here… I waited 3 hours to log in day one… Wanted to try Shaman… Decided I wasn’t really diggin it and wanted to swap to Alliance. Deleted my toon and now locked out. Bummed

TBH I think the real problem is that they keep having this same issue every single time, and STILL have no idea how to actually fix it other than to screw over people wanting to play.
The fact their solution is “tough, you cant play or go elsewhere” is ridiculous.
Note: Adding more servers is NOT the solution either; we saw in Classic the added a ton of realms to meet initial demand, and half of them were dead within months when it died down.

There NEEDS to be a grace period for people who already had a character and deleted. I can’t play with my bf because of this. Swapping servers is NOT a simple fix, we run a guild with 600 people. I can’t ask them all to swap.

Can’t make an alliance character on any RP-PVP realms. Chaos bolt has alliance faction locked due to imbalance and Crusader Strike is locked out completely. Not a great way to spend my one day off this week

Pretty cool that I don’t get to play with friends with no ETA on when I can join them. None of us knew it was gonna be the streamer server because we don’t follow any of these fools.

this sucks, I just want to roll a character and play with my old guild, but now my only option is to go kick rocks and play by myself on some other server? no word on when this will be unlocked? gee, thanks

this is such an insane take, my guild has been around for years and years and has tons of members, it’s sociopathic to expect special treatment, and the counter argument of “get better friends” makes no sense, how was I supposed to know I would get totally locked out from playing with them because I have to work crazy holiday hours all week

It just hurts, i’m sorry to hear this happened to you as well. I tried to change my class because both my friend and I roled druid. But then I was banished from the server without any warning.
At least I could still discover the unsub button since Blizzard just gave a lot of people who cant play with their guild/friends the middle finger.

I’m in a similar boat. If the server isn’t unlocked within a few days when my subscription is going to renew, I’m just going to cancel.

What gives? SoD has only been out for two days and Crusader Strike is locked? I didn’t have time during the week to make a character, especially in light of the long queues. Now that the weekend has arrived, I can’t?! My guild is established here, so playing on another server is not a viable option. Do better, Blizzard!

Honestly Chaos Bolt reminds me of Grobb/Emerald Dream at least on Horde side. Not sure what the fuss is about

Kinda funny how they lock friends out of playing with each other, then nuke the new hunter runes, then just stroll out of the office for the weekend. I think at this point the devs have gone from lazy and not giving a crap to actively being hostile towards their player base
