It’s not your loot until you win it, it’s the group’s loot. And while you’re more than welcome to roll on it if you want - it’s a much bigger upgrade for the Rogue. It’s entirely up to you if you want to be polite, or if you want to be greedy. Both are valid but one of them is a positive influence on community.
If other people take bows and the like from you, that sucks. But I personally would rather not be the person who takes everything I can purely out of fear someone might do it to me.
Barb is pretty much the best and will last a long time, too. The Barb is more of a stat stick for the Hunter. It gets more use in the Rogue’s hands. It’s exactly the same thing as a Rogue/Warrior rolling for a Blackcrow. It works for them (1% hit), but it’s not at all as big as it is for a Hunter.
As a hunter who has no problems needing for BiS items that a rogue may benefit more from, i think taking cruel barb is… well cruel. That is a massive upgrade for him, like for us it’s just a statstick to him its that and his weapons. You don’t have to be submissive to melee dps, just be empathetic. Hand of Justice is a item that is BiS at 60 for hunters and i’d definitely roll need for it even if there was a rogue because it is BiS.
Welcome to Classic WoW. There’s a reason weapons were changed and Hunters got stuck with ranged weapons. It happens. We wanted it, so we got it.
It was an upgrade for the Hunter so they decided to roll on it. No one was greedy, no one was in the wrong. Everyone I assume who needed it hit need. The Rogue didn’t win, there’s not an issue with that. It’s entirely coming back to the premise of “We didn’t deem you worthy of having that item so we’re going to retaliate.”
Also I never said it was “My loot” when it dropped, it’s my loot when I win it. My post was talking about how it’s not going to be a big deal if you also lose an item in the future, and that the individual should ignore people on this thread crying about karma because all that is, is them moaning and hoping for retaliation measures. That’s literally all karma is.
They needed it, and won it effectively making it their item. Which I was referring to. So yes, it was my item in the scenario. It was a good upgrade for the Hunter, the Rogue had all the chance to win by hitting need as well.
So do Hunters. They also just want stat sticks for the most part, so whatever offers the most they’ll take. Cruel Barb is worth 6 Agi - less, even, as you don’t get any crit from raw AP. Ignoring an offhand (and even then, it has to be a good one too), the Piercing Axe you get from a quest in the same dungeon is worth more than the Cruel Barb to a Hunter.
The implication was, and still is that the item has been rolled and looted for. I realize you’re trying to stretch here for something but it’s not working.
Calm down. Don’t tell people they have retail mindsets, because that’s some of the biggest BS anyone can spout. What would you tell people back in classic when they thought the same way? “You have a 2019 mindset”
