Cruel barb, hunter vs rogue(long story)

Is not a melee spec in classic.

Melee classes like rogue and warrior have top priority over melee weapons, if someone needs the weapon. Just think of it as common courtesy, range weapon dropped last night but I let the hunter in the group get it, even though it was a decent upgrade for me. Hunters need melee weapon, but you gotta let melee get the upgrade first. As far as the guild side of things go, they did overreact and maybe its time to look somewhere else to join.

Side note: if you are in situation where you have to melee alot, you need to learn to kite.

Oh yeah all hunters need is agility… and Attack Power, and %Crit and %Hit. Oh let’s not forget Ranged Attack Power too!

Gotta love it when clueless hunters like you spread misinformation. Especially when the entire thread is based on a weapon that has nothing but Attack Power.

And the meme of “Hunter weapon” lives on lol. Rogue should roll on your range weapon after that. I know my rogue would.

Agility gives ap, range ap and crit, you literally triple dip.

Well no, you only double dip, because melee AP is worthless. But you seem to be forgetting that AP is itemised double that of agility. You’ll get twice as much AP on a Weapon the same ilvl as one that has agility. Show me a 1h weapon with 6agi that a hunter can get at level 18. I’ll wait.

In the case of Dal’Rends, most groups won’t allow hunters to roll on them at all. They’re not particularly good for them, but I suppose it’ll be an annoying wait until Barbarous Blade becomes available from Dire Maul.

Repeating the same nonsense doesn’t make it true. There’s plenty of times where you’ll want crit or AP instead of raw agility. You clearly have no clue what you’re talking about and should probably stop before you embarass yourself even more.

Really, which ranged weapon was that?

There’s exactly 1 BOP ranged weapon in dungeons below level 50 that has warrior stats on it.

Ranged weapons have a very low stat budget, they don’t start getting stats until you get to end game content. The same is not true for melee weapons, they have the largest stat budget of any equipment slot.

What is happening here is that rogues and warriors have to get used to the fact that every spec in the game needs a melee weapon, you don’t get them all to yourself.

lol no.

I’d never need on a bow over a hunter just because it gives stats. I used ranged too, still doesn’t make it right.

Honest misunderstanding the hell what anyone says. Just try to make sure you don’t need on significant melee upgrades to others via party chat/inspect them.

I wasn’t aware that AP, Hit, and Crit weren’t stats.

But a shaman uses corspmaker as there primary weapon

That’s my point. Gear comes and gear goes. the message is ‘Don’t get so caught up on that one item someone else got’

That’s not a fair comparison. That’s an Shaman’s BiS for at least 10 levels. You have access to WW axe and Ravager which are both insane.

A hunter may gain 1 dps for getting Cruel, but a rogue doubles their time to kill from getting cruel.

A purely individualistic perspective on gear is a very poor one. You are not the only player on your server. By needing the Barb, which is a very low drop rate, the hunter screwed the rogue out of an item they would use for over 5 levels as BiS, for a marginal increase in personal DPS.

I hope you mean halves their kill time

Meh you know what i mean, lol

An item dropped that could be used for multiple people, someone else won a roll.
Guildies are acting like jerks, should probably just leave.

It’s called a roll system, you’re probably going to lose out on a bow or a gun in the future from someone rolling higher than you but whatever that’s not the end of the world. Ignore people crying about karma or what a weapon is used for. You needed it, you won it. End of story, everything else is just selfish retaliation because they don’t deem it “good for you” compared to others. Who cares, lol you deserve loot too.

Why can’t the Shaman use Ravager?

This is a retail mindset.

So to have a classic mindset I have to be willing to give up my loot- No it’s not a retail mindset. People like you are the reason Classic V Retail happens. I played Classic when I was a lil kid and I still had that mindset. I want my loot and if I can win the roll I’m going to use it.
