Spell damage increases poison damage too
No its not and you will quickly gain a ninja reputation for that line of thinking. There is no deficit of melee weapons between quests/dungeons and no reason to take a caster weapon. You will be blacklisted.
Spell damage is pretty much the only way a caster can increase their damage- especially at that level as nothing has crit or hit on it. Just because you dgaf about that caster’s dps, doesn’t mean they don’t. You’re effectively taking something without any stats you can even use from someone who would have it as their bis from level 35 to 50 in many cases.
You’re not understanding the argument. It will increase my overall damage output by 15-20%, and the mages by 2-3%.
Just saying.
Your argument is flawed as its based on the false assumption that there are no melee weapons for you. That is wrong.
And are you saying all of this as an example of what the OP did, or are you just as bad, if not worse than he is?
Pretty much why on my warrior and if I’m pugging I skip groups that have hunters in them if the dungeon has a weapon I want. I can always find a non hunter group to tank for.
Dealing with you night elves is insufferable.
It’s a much larger upgrade for the melee guy. I’m not saying it’s the right thing to do but at least I can understand it.
What the op did is just straight dbag material.
Well, theres clearly no getting through to you. Sure take hypnotic blade when torturing poker is the same dps and better speed. Tried to warn you, but instead enjoy your reputation.
At some point you have to have some self awareness and realize that your standard is that you get all the loot you want.
An offhand isn’t going to increase your damage output like that unless you haven’t equipped an offhand- the point is, you can get a green dagger drop with agi or ap that will bring your damage close to what the hypnotic can do- for a caster, they will be waiting 10+ levels before they find something that good, and since it goes with the orb, and spell damage blue are quite rare at that point, they end up being some of the best items you’ll have as a caster.
Don’t be the old UD Rogue meme now.
But you are okay with doing it yourself though.
Oh my God another night elf. Read the post again, I said it probably isn’t the right thing to do.
Acknowledge it’s a larger upgrade for the melee in that scenario, because it is. By a ton.
Reading comprehension is truly dead, we’re graduating illiterates from high school.
But you said what the OP did is ninjaing, and what you describe is not.
And yet you are still doing it.
Rather get the poker and keep my reputation personally.
Nah, but we do understand your hypocrisy.
Lost a need to roll on Corpsemaker (me a Warr) to an enh shammy last night. Said to myself ‘bummer, maybe next time’ and pulled the next mob.
Stop being so precious on gear. It all gets replaced anyway
Are you kidding?
So you- a rogue, taking hypnotic blade.
Hypnotic blade- bis for casters, has int/spell damage, pairs perfectly with orb from the same dungeon (GY), likely best weapon they’ll have for ten or more levels.
For a rogue- no stats that benefit you, would only be dps- numerous other weapons that will benefit you in that level range.
Compared to.
Hunter- taking a weapon they can use for melee damage, with AP one of their best stats, in a level range where there aren’t many (if any) solid stat polearms for them to use- making it at least a weapon that would likely be one of the best they can get for a while, and probably their first blue.
If you’re going to call a hunter a ninja in this situation- then you’re ten times the ninja he is, and so is every warrior that’s rolled on a staff over a caster.
Unless its loot in the 50-60 range I don’t really care personally but itd be nice if there was some conversation at the start of the dungeon about what gear you’re trying for
“sometimes”
Versus someone who uses it indefinitely.
Smh
If you’re a warrior or a rogue it does, yeah.
Classes with more strict stat requirements other than just “weapon DPS” don’t get upgrades nearly as often. The hypnotic blade example above is a good one, most casters won’t get anything better until level 50+. The hunter in the OP has nothing better available to him until Razorfen Kraul.
As a melee DPS 90% of the melee weapons in the game are made for them, but they still have a cry when the classes that need the other 10% roll need on their BIS.
