yes, survival is now a melee spec. doesn’t dual wield though. uses a polearm. it’s pretty fun.
In retail it’s known as Survival.
Okay, you remember that when the Carapace Spine Crossbow won’t drop after three hundo Strat runs and the time it does, the rogue needs and wins it.
Been there, done that.
is this just a nelf hunter thing to believe that hunters can roll on whatever the heck they want? 0.o
I was a Nelf hunter
I don’t know man… I guess people are different.
edit: heh, I kinda wanna switch to my hunter with both warblades of hakari and post, but i’m at work I got those cuz no rogues were there when the first blade dropped, and my guild had a policy of completing sets takes priority so I got the second one when it dropped too. Dang did I get random flames from random rogues from back in the days.
Sorry, but AP is entirely useless for a hunter, even in situational melee.
On agility-based weapons, however, it’s a bit more complicated. There’s a sword in DM that gives agility (forgot the name) and a rogue and I both needed on it. I won. There was no conflict over it. The agility is a nice bonus. However, I felt like I should have asked him first since, you know, rogues are more dependent on melee than hunters no matter what the stats are. If you were a rogue, you’d probably understand.
Wrong, yes. Ninja, no. You’re not ninja looting just because you don’t know any better and think you’re doing right.
AP converts directly to RAP.
i imagine you got flamed to heck and back. but given the circumstances there wasn’t a whole lot you could do. which is a LOT different than being a ninja though.
That weapon was just a stat stick for you.
For the rogue, it’s his primary weapon.
There are good guns/bows that drop which would also provide a stat benefit to a Rogue, but it’d be bad form on their part to roll on it when there’s a Hunter in the party that needs the upgrade.
If you can’t see that, then yeah, you’re not gonna make a lot of friends this way.
Your reputation sticks with you in Classic… No Cross-Realm Zones and no LFG. Remember that.
I kicked azz on the U’goro demon for the Rhok quest though!
You can’t melee in the dead zone. The dead zone is that sweet spot between being able to be shot or hit in melee, where the hunter is able to do neither.
Unsurprised to see this.
“I melee more then you ranged attack, therefore its allright for me to take your weapon.”
Pfft.
And yet you defend the ops actions with “hunters melee more then rogues and warriors range.”
Was just about to type “as long as they don’t take the xbow.” Then continued to read. Absolutely.
Leave the guuld. They are idiots. Also gear doesnt really matter at such a low level. All of my agility from my gears accounts for like 20% damage. And im pulling agro off my pet.
My 2 cents on this - is it ninja loot … no. Was it a bad call? Yes. Reason why is that the barb is the strongest weapon they can get at that level. Its a huge upgrade and helps a class that struggles early game to sustain and level faster. to you it is a stat stick. Its the equivalent to a rogue needing on a ranged weapon that would help you tons but barely effect him.
Also if you are in melee range and it wasnt because of PvP … you are doing something very wrong.

Most of us hunters in the thread see it as this, but we’re told that we’re wrong.
edit: for all the hunter defending this behavior, I hope you are as ardent about this position when melee roll on your ranged weapons.
If the ranged weapon has stats then it’s fair enough. But most rare ranged weapons in Vanilla don’t have any stats at all.
