Cross realm guilds also cross faction?

Noticed that my horde alt couldn’t see my alliance guild in guild finder (different servers as well). Went to an alliance room on a 3rd server and was able to see and join my cross realm guild. Any ideas?

I had this problem, right now unless the realm is connected you cannot see your guild in the finder. If you have another person in your guild you can have them invite that character to your guild. Not sure is there is another work around.

I guess that’s why I have an alliance alt guild and a horde alt guild. Would be nice to have them all together though. :-/

The guild finder was always faction specific, even after cross-faction guilds were added. Which is a very bizarre oversight, but one that is able to be worked around, by using a community that can be joined by both factions and using that to invite your alts.

It’s strange.

If you’re trying to be invited by someone cross faction, you’ll have to have them on btag. I was able to have my alliance characters invited to horde guilds cross faction as long as I had whoever was inviting me on btag.

Ah, so I could invite them from a community roster? I’ll try that. Thanks!

Yes, there is a way, and it is one I used a few times in the past. But it is a bit convoluted.

How? Just made a community but still wasn’t able to invite my horde alt.

I followed this post’s advice, and it worked for me.

Convoluted beyond what it should be, though.

Aye, that worked. Thanks! Now to decide if satisfying my OCD to that degree is worth that process on however many 50 odd alts I have.:sweat_smile::joy::sweat_smile::rofl:

A fair question. Either way, happy you were able to get it working, and take care out there!

So to be sure. Guilds still have to be cross realm connected? I would like to be able to play with a guild I helped form in SoD and take that group into Retail. Obviously we are not all on the same connected realm. Any help here would be awesome.

Uhh… So, no, they do not need to be on connected realms, you are able to invite people on other realms. I believe that the only exception here is that the guild finder does not show guilds off-realm, you need a manual invite. However, they do need to be on the same game, so you would not be able to invite people who are in SoD.

They do, just has to be the same faction which is annoying. My Proudmoore toons can see my guild on Bloodhoof. Just no easy way for me to request a guild invite from one of my Horde characters

But can you see it using the guild finder menu, j hotkey? I wasn’t able to find my guild through that system on a different server, even though it was alliance and on an alliance toon.

Yes. I just type in the guild name into the search bar and it comes up. Are you sure the guild is still listed publically?

Huh, maybe it lapsed. Or maybe I am just illiterate. Well, thank you for the correction, will have to double check there!
